John (Juan) Cervantes passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at his summer home in Mesquite Nevada.
He was born in San Bernandino, Calif. to the late John and Maria Cervantes, the second of three children.
As a foreman for the Union Pacific Railroad, he retired after 36 years of service.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus as well as other fraternal and union organizations.
He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dolores.
He is also survived by six children, including John Jr. of Oregon, Frank, Mike, and Jeannie all of Rock Springs, Mary Ann of Utah, and Chris of Colorado.
Cervantes is also survived by two sisters, Maria and Ana of Calexico, California; nine grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
A cremation service for his wife and children took place on Friday, July 9 in Mesquite, Nevada.
A celebration of life will be held at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Rock Springs, followed by an inurnment ceremony at a later date.
