A very wise Winston Churchill once wrote “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.”
There is a man in our community who is proving this very point in this very trying time.
Thomas Garrard of Mesquite has donated $450 dollars to the Mesquite Senior Center for its annual Community Thanksgiving dinner.
Thomas has saved all his tips from the last month while working at the Virgin River Hotel and Casino, and decided he wanted to start off this holiday season by bringing happiness to those around him.
Thomas moved to Mesquite two years ago to take care of his mom along with taking a job at the Virgin River Hotel and Casino.
He loves to cook and serve for his fellow employees and has made special meals for the Graveyard E.D.R.
Just last month he donated 30 pumpkins to the Senior Center to add to the Festive atmosphere.
We live in a world where we are surrounded by sounds of sorrow and greed.
Thomas Garrard is showing us there is still happiness and thoughtfulness in humanity, if we all stopped and thought what can I do, instead of what can I get?
What would our tomorrow look like?
The Senior Staff at the Senior Center would like to Thank Thomas and all the people who contribute to the Annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner.
