Point Guard Abbie Barnard scored 20 points Monday night to lead her Virgin Valley High School Bulldog squad to a 51-45 victory over Faith Lutheran High School Crusaders Monday night in Las Vegas. Center Kourtney Metzger added 12 points for the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs got off to a slow start trailing 12-7 after one period of play. The halftime score found the Crusaders up 23-22. The Crusaders managed to hold their lead as the third quarter ended with the score 38-36. The Bulldogs defense shut down the Crusaders in the last period to seal the win 51-45.
The Bulldogs had well balanced scoring as four other Bulldogs scored 19 points to add to the final results. The Bulldogs will play their first home game on Decmber 11 against Sunrise High School.
