First impressions are wrong, but lasting, as I say in my book, "365 Powerful Ways to Influence."
Visitors to the CasaBlanca may have bad impressions of the casino. Why? It took them about three months to get rid of the ugly yellow tapes around that broken security post blocker in front of the parking lot entrance to the casino. Now the right-most doors don’t work, and there was ugly yellow tape on them for a few days, replaced by a sign a couple of days ago.
However, there’s still ugly yellow tape blocking entrance to the “office center,” which consists of a few computers so people can check their e-mail. I wonder how long it will take them to repair that.
When I moved to Mesquite in 2003 I noticed that several of the doors were hard to open — they stick together. Nine years later, they are still hard to open. I know which ones they are, and I avoid them.
Maybe they were hard to open when Merv Griffin built the place long, long ago. I can only conclude the CasaBlanca doesn’t care about first impressions. It’s a great casino-hotel, and I wish they would start caring.
