Tomorrow a state holiday

Friday is Nevada Day, celebrating Nevada becoming the 36TH on Oct. 31, 1864. It is a state holiday. All city, county and state offices will be closed, as will many financial institutions, but many banks only close on federal holidays. Schools and the library will be closed, but the post office will remain open. Nevada Admission Day originally was celebrated on Oct. 31, but starting in 2000 the state holiday was moved to the last Friday in October.
