Congressional candidate Danny Tarkanian visited residents, their families and guests of Highland Manor Skilled Nursing Facility on Oct. 9.
Tarkanian spoke to the group in the front lobby about his political views, especially Obamacare, Medicare and Medicaid. He then made rounds to private rooms to visit those unable to come for his speech earlier.
Mesquite Mayor Mark Wier was on hand to welcome him, as well as James Sullivan, administrator of Highland Manor.
The event featured snacks and handouts from the candidate and his assistant. Tarkanian had to return promptly to Las Vegas after the event in Mesquite.
“We really appreciated his coming after our invitation, especially when he had a last minute conflict. He still came and visited with our residents, answered their questions and for this, I was most appreciative,” Sullivan said.
