Police Department Blotter, June 24 to 30, 2012

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for June 24-30. Individuals listed here should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
 

n      Suspicious person/circumstance: June 24 -- Officers were dispatched to a local casino, in reference to a suspicious person. An intoxicated male subject got confused about what room he was staying in and kicked a door into another room.  This subject was later charged with destruction of property.
 

n      Domestic trouble: June 24 -- Officers responded to a family argument on Larkspur Lane. Officers made contact with the complainant and determined the argument had been resolved prior to their arriving on scene.
 

n      Agency assistance: June 24 -- Officers were dispatched to Interstate 15-Southbound to assist another agency locate a suspicious female. Officers located the adult female and determined no crime occurred. Officers gave the female a ride and she was released to a friend.
 

n      Stolen vehicle: June 25 -- An adult male reported a vehicle stolen from aMesa Boulevard parking lot.  An investigation was started.

 

n      Traffic accident without injury: June 25 -- Police responded to a traffic accident at West Mesquite Boulevard and Falcon Ridge Parkway in the roadway. There were no injuries reported.
 

n      Citizen assist: June 24 -- An officer responded to a local supermarket to speak with an adult female about a possible protective order violation.
 

n      Suspicious person/circumstance: June 25 -- A complainant reported a suspicious medical problem after being in the Mesquite area.
 

n      Police were called to respond to an incident of a female driving up and off of a sidewalk on Riverside Road.
 

n      Fraud: June 25 -- An adult complainant reported fraud involving his checking account. An investigation was begun.
 

n      Follow up investigation: June 26 -- An officer responded to a Concord Drive residence for a report of a sexual assault.  A report was taken and the case forwarded to detectives for further investigation.
 

n      Traffic stop: June 26 -- Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic offense at Desert Drive and West Mesquite Boulevard. The adult male driver had an active bench warrant and was in possession of drug paraphernalia. The male was arrested for the warrant, drug paraphernalia, and other traffic offenses.
 

n      Controlled substance problem: June 27 -- Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic offense at West Hafen Lane and Riverside Road. Officers contacted the adult male driver of the vehicle, who was in possession of marijuana. The male was issued a citation for the traffic offense and possession of marijuana.
 

n      Theft: June 27 -- Police responded to a theft of multiple computers from a West Pioneer Boulevard store. A report was taken for the incident. Officers are currently attempting to locate the suspects.
 

n      Wanted person: June 27 -- Officers contacted a Turtle Cove resident with two active bench warrants.  The resident was arrested and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center on the aforementioned warrants.
 

n      Trespassing: June 28 -- A person was contacted by the Mesquite Police Department and a records check revealed the person had a misdemeanor warrant out of City of Mesquite. The subject was arrested for the warrant and booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.
 

n      Domestic trouble: June 28 -- Officers responded to a Joshua Drive residence for a report of a domestic argument. A report was taken.
 

n      Traffic accident without injury: June 28 --  Mesquite police officer responded to traffic accident involving a golf cart and a passenger vehicle at East Pioneer and Mesa boulevards. There were no injuries and minor damages were sustained by both vehicles.
 

n      Theft: June 28 -- Officers were dispatched to a West Mesquite Boulevard gas station for a report of a theft.
 

n      Suspicious person/circumstance: June 28 -- A Chalet Drive residence owner noticed some unusual marks on the rear sliding glass door and requested to speak with officers.
 

n      Theft: June 29 -- Officers were dispatched to a Las Palmas Circle residence for a report of a possible burglary.
 

n      Traffic accident without injury: June 29 -- Police responded to a minor vehicle collision at the Eureka Resort Casino parking lot. There were no injuries and minor property damage. A report was taken for the accident.
 

n      Theft: June 29 -- Officers responded to a Jacaranda Way residence for a possible theft from a vehicle.
 

n      Theft: June 29 -- Police responded to a report of theft at aMesa Boulevard residence. A missing wallet was located and 200 dollars in cash was missing. A report was taken for the incident and officers are currently attempting to locate the suspect(s). 

n      Threatening: June 29 -- Individual wanted to speak to an officer regarding threats she received.
 

n      Suspicious person/circumstance: June 29 -- Officers responded to a Cottonwood Drive residence for a suspicious circumstances involving the welfare of a child.
 

n      Traffic accident without injury: June 29 -- Police responded to a three vehicle traffic collision on North Sandhill Boulevard. One female passenger was treated for minor injuries. A report was taken for the accident and one female adult driver and one female juvenile driver were issued traffic citations.
 

n      Domestic trouble: June 29 -- Officers responded to a Greens Way residence, reference a report of a possible domestic situation. Upon Officer arrival, a disorderly male was located attempting to gain entry to the residence.  After the matter was investigated, the adult male subject was arrested for breach of peace and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.
 

n      Fighting: June 29 -- Officers responded to an East Pioneer Boulevard convenience store, reference a report of two females fighting.  Officers arrived to find both females still at the store. One female was laying on the ground and was subsequently transferred by ambulance to the hospital.  Information was gathered from both involved parties and witnesses at the scene.
 

n      Trespassing: June 29 -- Officers responded to the CasaBlanca Casino reference trespass violators. The two adult subjects were arrested for trespassing.  One of the subjects was also arrested for a warrant out of the Mesquite Municipal Court.
 

n      Disorderly conduct: June 30 -- Officers responded to a Mesa Boulevard residence for a disorderly call.  Following an investigation, three persons were cited and released for disturbing the peace.
 

n      Theft: June 30 -- An officer responded to a Hiawatha Way address in reference to a theft of a firearm. The incident is currently under investigation.
 

n      Theft: June 30 -- An officer responded to a West Mesquite Boulevard business in reference to missing patio chairs. The incident is currently under investigation.
 

n      Lost property: June 30 -- An officer responded to the Justice Facility in reference to a lost purse.  A report was taken.
 

n      Agency assistance: June 30 -- Officers were dispatched to assist an outside agency with contacting a juvenile who had run away from wilderness program. The juvenile's parents were contacted and stated the juvenile was safe and taken care of.
 

n      Disorderly conduct: June 30 -- Officers responded to Wal-Mart on West Pioneer Boulevard in reference to a disorderly subject. No criminal charges were filed in this incident. The subject was trespassed from the property.
 

n      Suspicious person: June 30 -- Officers responded to a Riverside Road residence for a suspicious person.  After the investigation of the incident an adult male was arrested.
 

n      Agency assistance: June 30 -- Officers were dispatched to Bannock Street to assist the fire department with an adult male, reference a mental disability. The male was transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
 

n      Traffic stop: June 30 -- A Mesquite officer stopped a vehicle on Interstate 15 for a traffic violation. The officer found drug paraphernalia belonging to the passenger. The adult male driver was cited for the traffic offense. The adult male passenger was cited for possession of paraphernalia.
 

n      Found property: June 30 -- Officers responded to an Eagle Street residence, reference a found property report. The complainant located a set of keys inside her garage. The keys were placed into evidence and the owner was not identified.
 

n      Driving under the influence: June 30 -- A Mesquite police officer stopped a vehicle at West Pioneer and Oasis boulevards for an equipment violation.  The adult female driver was arrested for DUI.
