Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for July 22-28. Individuals listed here should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Robbery: July 22 -- Officers responded to a Mesa Boulevard residence for a report of a robbery. An adult male was battered and robbed in a local parking lot. An investigation is underway.
Controlled substance problem: July 22 -- Officer responded to a West Mesquite Boulevard motel, reference a suspicious incident. The reporting party advised she had been left stranded by a friend. The friend was located and a traffic stop was conducted. A K9 search was conducted on the vehicle. The K9 alerted on several places in the vehicle. Methamphetamine and narcotic paraphernalia were recovered. Arrests were made.
Stolen property: July 22 -- An officer responded to the lobby of the police station for a report of stolen property. A report was taken and an investigation is underway.
Property damage, non-vandalism: July 22 -- A Mesquite police officer met with a complainant on Reber Drive regarding property damage to her vehicle. The complainant requested an information report be completed and documented. The officer gathered information regarding the incident and completed a police report per the complainant's request.
Traffic stop: July 22 -- An officer stopped a vehicle on West Mesquite Boulevard for a registration violation. Due to the driver having active traffic warrants he was arrested for suspended registration and no vehicle insurance. The vehicle was inventoried and impounded.
Wanted Person: July 23 -- An officer responded to a northbound Interstate 15 exit to transfer custody of an adult male from Metro Police to Mesquite PD. The adult male was arrested on an outstanding warrant and transported to Mesquite for further booking.
Fraud: July 23 -- A victim of fraud came to the police department to report an incident that had occurred on West Mesquite Boulevard with his credit card. Information was gathered and an investigation started.
Burglary: July 23 -- Police were called to a West Mesquite Boulevard residence for a burglary report. The residence involved is vacant and used for storage. The suspects reportedly took numerous power tools. The investigation is on-going at this time.
Threatening: July 23 -- Citizen reported an older male, was living alone in a Pulsipher Lane residence, possibly needing more assistance than what friends and family could provide. Police spoke with friends and the older male. Provided information for other available federal and community resources.
Wanted Person: July 23 -- One white female adult was arrested on a Mesquite Municipal Court warrant.
Burglary: July 23 -- An officer was dispatched to a River Mesa residence for a report of a residential burglary. The officer arrived and contacted the victims. During the course of the investigation the officer learned what was taken, at which time a detective was requested to process the scene.
Wanted person: July 23 -- An officer stopped a vehicle southbound on Interstate 15 for an equipment violation. The driver had an active warrant for her arrest. The driver was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center on the warrant. The vehicle was towed by a tow company off of the rotation list.
Citizen assist: July 23 -- A male came to the police department with a question regarding custody issues of his 2 children. No official documentation available, matter of record only.
Wanted person: July 23 -- An officer stopped a vehicle for a moving violation on southbound Interstate 15. The driver had four active warrants for his arrest. The driver was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center. The passenger was released with the vehicle.
Property damage, non-vandalism: July 24 -- Police were called to investigate damage done to locks on mail boxes at Marilyn Parkway and Santa Fe Drive. Two mail boxes were found with damaged locks, however the suspects could not make entry. Investigation continues.
Domestic trouble: July 24 -- Responded to a report of threatening on Vineyard Lane. The incident involved domestic violence and an arrest was made.
Civil matter: July 24 -- An Officer responded to a North Sandhill Boulevard pharmacy to investigate possible missing partial prescription medication. The officer spoke with the pharmacy employees and the possible victim. The case is still active pending further follow-up investigation by the police department.
Animal complaint: July 24 -- Officers responded to a Thompson Drive residence to take a report of a vicious dog, which had attacked another dog. Officers gathered information from all parties involved, and forwarded the police report to Mesquite Animal Control to complete a citation.
Domestic trouble: July 25 -- Officer responded to a Mesa Boulevard casino, reference a possible domestic battery. The investigation resulted in the arrest of both subjects for domestic battery.
Domestic trouble: July 25 -- Police responded to a North Yucca Street residence for a dispute between a male and a female. Investigation showed domestic battery occurred. Male was taken into custody and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center
Controlled substance problem: July 25 -- Officer conducted a search in a North Yucca Street residence, per the verbal consent of the owner, resulting the recovery of a marijuana cigarette, and drug paraphernalia. The owner was issued a citation for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Welfare check: July 25 -- Officers responded to a West Mesquite boulevard residence to conduct a welfare check.
Theft: July 26 -- Officer responded to a Mesa Boulevard residence, reference a report of a theft. A Male reported someone had stolen his wallet from the residence while he was sleeping. The wallet was found outside the residence with all of its contents, with the exception of a missing one hundred dollar bill.
Intoxicated person: July 26 -- Officers responded to a convenience store on Mesa Boulevard, reference an intoxicated adult male passed out against the building. While speaking with the male; evidence was brought forth, which indicated he had recently damaged a vehicle at the store. The male was issued a citation for his act of vandalism and released.
Traffic stop: July 26 -- Officer attempted to conduct a stop on a vehicle on Riverside Road, but the driver refused to stop. The driver, an adult male was found to be driving with a revoked Nevada driver’s license for DUI. The driver was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.
Theft: July 26 -- Officer took a report of stolen property, which occurred at a local golf course. Officer is currently attempting to locate and identify the suspect (s) involved with the theft.
Wanted person: July 26 -- Detectives located and arrested a twenty-two year old adult male, on Bison Street in Las Vegas, on several outstanding juvenile warrants. Male was transported to the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center for processing he was then booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
TPO/restraining order/subpoena: July 26 -- White male adult was served an Order of Protection at the Mesquite Detention Center.
Wanted person: July 26 -- Officers responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance in a Pinehurst Drive neighborhood. Officers located a male adult who had an active arrest warrant. The male adult was arrested for such.
Theft: July 27 -- Local resident refused to pay cab fare after being transported from the Eureka Casino to his Turtleback Road residence. Subject was later located, identified, and issued a citation for Defrauding a Taxi Driver.
Wanted person: July 27 -- One white female adult arrested and transported from the Washington County Jail in Hurricane, Utah, to the Mesquite Detention Center.
Found property: July 27 -- some found property was turned into an officer and was later returned to the owner.
Trespassing: July 27 -- Officers contacted, identified, and arrested a male for trespassing at a local casino on East Pioneer Boulevard.
Traffic stop: July 28 -- An officer conducted a traffic stop on a rental truck involved in a suspicious circumstance and a traffic offense on West Mesquite Boulevard. Following an investigation, an adult male and an adult female were arrested on misdemeanor charges.
Agency Assistance: July 28 -- Officers responded to a North Grapevine Road residence for a intoxicated adult male. The male was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Theft: July 28 -- An Officer spoke with an adult male regarding a possible theft. The male wanted an information report filed regarding his medication went missing or was possibly stolen from his room during his stay at a local casino on East Pioneer Boulevard. The Officer completed a theft report.
