Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for May 27-June 2. Individuals listed here should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of lawFound Property:
n Battery on person: May 27 -- Officers were dispatched to a local residence in reference to a battery call. The complainant stated he was pushed down by security, in the parking lot, of a local nightclub. This matter is being investigated.
n Lost property: May 27 -- An officer received a telephone call from an out-of-state resident who reported losing his wallet in Mesquite near the Eureka Casino Resort. The complainant requested an incident number for his financial institution.
n Hit and run: May 27 -- Officers responded to the West Mesquite Boulevard and Falcon Ridge Parkway intersection, reference a hit and run involving property damage. Officers later located the adult male driver of the vehicle which fled the scene. The male was arrested for leaving the scene of an accident, obstructing a public officer, resisting arrest, and other traffic offenses.
n Juvenile problem: May 28 -- Police were called to a Chaparral Private Drive residence where it was reported juveniles were having a party and drinking alcohol. The juveniles left the scene prior to officers arrival. The investigation is ongoing.
n Trespassing: May 28 -- Officers responded to the CasaBlanca Casino, reference a trespassing incident. Officers spoke with security who had contacted an intoxicated adult male. The male had been trespassed from the property, but refused to leave. Security signed a complaint against the male and he was arrested for trespassing.
n Controlled substance problem: May 28 -- Officers conducted an investigation on two suspicious, male individuals loitering about an apartment complex at Sun Valley Drive and West Mesquite Boulevard. Officer's investigation revealed one of the males to be in possession of marijuana. Said offending male was arrested for such.
n Noise disturbance: May 28 -- Officers responded to the Sun Valley Drive residence for a noise complaint. Following an investigation, an adult minor was arrested for an alcohol offense.
n Trespassing: May 28 -- Officers were dispatched to a local casino for a subject who refused to leave property. Subject still refused to leave property upon police arrival, and was taken into custody.
n Traffic stop: May 28 -- An officer conducted a traffic stop at West Old Mill Road and Woodbury Lane on a vehicle. The driver was issued citations for open container of alcohol and speed.
n Agency assistance: May 28 -- Officers responded to the Mesquite Airport to assist medical personnel with an adult male who was injured during a skydive landing. An adult male was flown to the hospital in Las Vegas for further treatment.
n Traffic stop: May 28 -- A Mesquite police officer conducted a traffic stop at Oasis Boulevard and Pinnacle Court on a motor vehicle for several traffic violations. During the traffic stop the officer observed a firearm inside of the vehicle. One occupant was arrested for Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
n Civil matter: May 28 -- An officer responded to the lobby of the police department in reference to a theft of a laptop computer. The officer determined the incident is a civil matter.
n Theft from a vehicle: May 28 -- An officer responded to a North Sandhill Boulevard business for a theft from vehicle report. A report was taken and an investigation is underway.
n Battery on person: May 28 -- An officer was dispatched to the lobby of the police department to speak with a victim of a battery. The officer gathered information from the victim, who requested to sign a citation against the offender for battery. An adult male was issued a citation for battery.
n Disorderly conduct: May 28 -- Police were called to Pulsipher Park on Second South Street, reference an intoxicated male adult yelling profanities. The complainant signed a complaint against the male and he was arrested breach of peace.
n Controlled substance problem: May 29 -- Officers conducted an investigative stop on Sun Valley Drive on two adult males. Both males were in possession of drug paraphernalia, and one male was in possession of methamphetamine. Both males were arrested for these charges.
n Burglary: May 29 -- Police responded to a burglary call at a Partridge Lane residence. The victim reported several firearms were stolen from his residence. The investigation is ongoing.
n Suspicious person/circumstance: May 29 -- An officer responded to a Hanna court residence for a suspicious circumstance involving the whereabouts of an adult female. An investigation was underway when the adult female was located safe and secure.
n Traffic accident without injury: May 29 -- Officers responded to a West Pioneer Boulevard parking lot in reference to a vehicle accident involving a pedestrian. The pedestrian was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
n Fraud: May 29 -- An officer responded to a local shopping center for a report of credit card fraud. A report was taken and an investigation is underway.
n Theft: May 29 -- An officer responded to the lobby of the police department in reference to a stolen handgun. The incident is currently under investigation.
n Disorderly conduct: May 29 -- An officer responded to the local visitors' center reference a disorderly adult. Following an investigation, an adult male was taken into custody for breach of peace.
n Citizen assist: May 29 -- A complainant reported a missing realty sign from a local property.
n Citizen assist: May 29 -- The complainant had questions about the eviction of a roommate from her residence. She was referred to the constable's office.
n Theft: May 29 -- An Officer responded to a West Hafen Lane business in reference to a theft from vehicle report. The incident is currently under investigation.
n Agency assistance: May 30 -- Officer was called to Sun Valley Drive residence, where a female adult was yelling for help. Officer discovered the female had fallen from her wheel chair and needed medical assistance. Paramedics responded and transported the female to the hospital.
n Burglary: May 30 -- Officers were dispatched to a Falcon Street residence, for a report of suspicious activity. The officers arrived and conducted an investigation related to vehicle burglaries. The officers located two males in the area and learned the males subjects were involved with the crime. Both subjects were arrested.
n Wanted person: May 30 -- A male adult was arrested at the High Desert State Prison in Indian Springs on a confirmed Mesquite Municipal Court warrant.
n Found property: May 30 -- Police responded to a report of found property near the Cottonwood Drive and East Mesquite Boulevard intersection. A bag containing miscellaneous male clothing and U.S. currency was recovered. The items were booked into the Mesquite evidence vault as found property. Officers are currently attempting to locate the owner of the items.
n Vandalism: May 30 -- Officer responded to a South Arrowhead Lane residence for a report of vandalism to resident's vehicle.
n Wanted person: May 30 -- Officer made contact with a male with an active warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court. The male was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.
n Civil matter: May 30 -- Responded to a business on West Pioneer Boulevard, reference a report of damage to a vehicle, while the vehicle was being worked on, by the business. An information report and photographs were taken for insurance purposes.
n Hit and run: May 30 -- Officers spoke with a parent who requested to report his teenage child was struck by a vehicle while riding his peddle bike on Oldmill Road. The child had minor injuries and refused medical attention.
n Found person: May 30 -- Officers responded to a local convinience store on North Sandhill Boulevard reference an unattended two year old child. Upon officers arrival the child was reunited with her baby sitter.
n Intoxicated person: May 30 -- Officer responded to a report of two males fighting near Mesa Boulevard. Officer found the two males were brothers and both had been drinking. One male was found to be 18 years of age, and was arrested for minor consumption.
n Wanted person: May 31 -- Officers located a suspicious male subject walking west bound at West Mesquite Boulevard and Thistle Street. Officers identified the subject and arrested the male for warrants out of Mesquite Municipal Court.
n Traffic accident with damage: May 31 -- Officer responded to a parking lot on North Sandhill Boulevard reference a minor traffic accident. A driver/insurance information sheet was completed.
n Theft: May 31 -- A female had her cell phone stolen from a friend's residence on Sun Valley Drive. Officer is currently attempting to locate the suspect (s) involved with the theft of the cell phone.
n Found property: May 31 -- Officer recovered a bicycle, which was laying on a sidewalk along Clover Lane. The bicycle was placed into the Mesquite bicycle impound for safe keeping.
n Burglary: May 31 -- Officer responded to a Sea Pines Street resident for a report of a burglary. Report has been taken and the investigation continues.
n Agency assistance: May 31 -- Officers were dispatched to assist an outside agency with a juvenile who had fallen into the river at the Scenic Boulevard Bridge. The juvenile, who had drowned in the river, was later located by the outside agency.
n Threatening: May 31 -- An officer was dispatched to a Pulsipher Lane condominium complex, in reference to threats made by one of the tenants to the reporting person. The reporting person declined to pursue charges.
n Hit and run: June 1 -- Police responded to a hit-and-run accident in a local parking lot. There were no injuries and minor vehicle damage. A report was taken for the accident. Officers are currently attempting to locate the suspect(s).
n Controlled substance problem: June 1 -- Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic violations at Mesquite Boulevard and Old Mill Road. The driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and the passenger had an active warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court. The driver was issued a citation and released with a court date. The passenger was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.
n Traffic accident with damage: June 1 -- Officer responded to North Sandhill Boulevard parking lot for a report of a minor traffic accident. A driver/insurance information sheet was completed.
n Found property: June 1 -- Officers responded to Dominos Pizza and recovered a wallet that was found in the parking lot. The owner of the wallet was located and officers returned the wallet.
n Wanted person: June 1 -- Officers located and arrested a male on East Pioneer Boulevard who had a $3,200 electronic warrant out of Las Vegas Municipal Court.
n Fraud: June 2 -- An officer responded to a Frontier Pass Trail residence in reference to a fraud report. The complainant requested an incident number for her financial institutions.
n TPO/Restraining order/subpoena: June 2 -- An officer responded to a West Mesquite Boulevard residence to serve a protective order on an adult male. Paper service was completed.
n Animal complaint: June 2 -- An officer responded to assist Mesquite Animal Control with an animal left locked in a motor vehicle on West Mesquite Boulevard.
n Disorderly conduct: June 2 -- An officer responded to a Rivers Bend Drive residence for a disorderly situation. Officers spoke with an adult male who was yelling at his children.
n Domestic trouble: June 2 -- Officers responded to a local casino in reference to a domestic battery. After an investigation an adult female was taken into custody for domestic battery and an adult male was taken into custody for a warrant.
n Citizen assist: June 2 -- An officer was dispatched to an East First South Street residence to assist in a dispute over irrigation water in a ditch.
n Trespassing: June 2 -- An officer was dispatched to a local casino, reference a trespassing incident. Officers contacted an adult male who was trespassing. The subject was issued a citation for trespassing.
n Domestic trouble: June 2 -- Police responded to a West First North Street residence reference a domestic dispute. Officers contacted an adult male and female and learned a verbal dispute occurred. Both subjects were separated.
n Property damage, non-vandalism: June 3 -- An officer was dispatched to Palmer Lane, reference property damage. The officer contacted the victim who is reporting damage to her vehicle. The officer took the report for a matter of record upon the victim's request.
