Police Blotter for June 17-23, 2012

Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for June 17-23. Individuals listed here should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

 

n      Traffic violation: June 17 -- Officer stopped a vehicle on Interstate 15 for a traffic violation.  The adult male driver was cited and released.  The adult male passenger was arrested for open container of alcohol.

 

n      Attempt to locate: June 17 -- Officers were dispatched to northbound Interstate 15 within city limits reference numerous calls reporting a reckless/intoxicated driver on the highway. Officers located the vehicle and during the investigation the subject was arrested for driving under the influence.

 

n      Traffic accident without injury: June 17 -- Officers responded to the West Pioneer Boulevard and Falcon Ridge Parkway intersection in reference to a traffic accident involving two vehicles. No injuries were reported.

 

n      Citizen assist: June 17 -- An officer took a theft report over the telephone. The complainant was calling from out of state. The complainant requested the incident be a matter of record.

 

n      Theft: June 17 -- Reporting party on Vineyard Lane wanted to report the possible theft of her prescription medications.

 

n      Suspicious person/circumstance: June 17 -- Officers responded to a Calais Drive residence reference a possible suicidal subject. An adult female and an adult male were contacted. The female was intoxicated and refused medical attention and denied being suicidal. The female was released to the male's custody.

 

n      Theft: June 17 -- Officers responded to the Virgin River Casino, reference a theft and trespassing incident. An adult female stole several items, which were recovered. The female was also trespassing on the property. The female was arrested for petit larceny and trespassing.

 

n      Minor gambling: June 17 -- Officers responded to the Virgin River Casino on East Pioneer Boulevard, reference a minor gambling. An adult male was contacted who did not posses any form of identification. The male was arrested for minor gambling, and was later found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. The male was arrested for these charges.

 

n      Weapon offense: June 17 -- An officer was dispatched to a West Hafen Lane residence for a report of a male juvenile allegedly being shot in the hand by a BB gun. The victim's mother requested the incident be a matter of record at this time.

 

n      Civil matter: June 18 -- Citizen responded to police department to report information regarding a possible stolen vehicle. The incident was found to be a civil matter.

 

n      Domestic trouble: June 18 -- Officers responded to a local residence in reference to a domestic battery. After an investigation was conducted an adult male was taken into custody for domestic battery.

 

n      Welfare check: June 18 -- An officer responded to an East Old Mill Road residence for a welfare check.  Upon arrival three arrests were made for use of inhalants. Child Protective Services was contacted for the living conditions.

 

n      Stolen Vehicle: June 18 -- An officer met with an adult male who came to the police station to report his vehicle was stolen.  A report was taken and an investigation is ongoing.

 

n      Vandalism: June 18 -- An officer responded to a West Mesquite Boulevard business in reference to a vandalism report. The incident is currently under investigation.

 

n      Traffic violation: June 18 -- Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation at East First North Street and North Willow Street. An adult male driver was contacted, and officers learned he had active warrants from another jurisdiction. The male was arrested for local traffic violations.

 

n      Traffic accident with damage: June 18 -- An officer was dispatched to a local supermarket for a minor private property accident. The drivers were given a drivers exchange form to be completed. Each driver received their copy of the exchanged information.

 

n      Suspicious person/circumstance: June 19 -- An officer responded to a Sawgrass Way address in reference to a suspicious person checking front doors of various residences. A suspect was later identified. The incident is currently under investigation.

 

n      Missing person: June 19 -- Report of a missing elderly female, who was later located inside of her residence on Concord Drive.

 

n      TPO violation: June 19 -- An officer was dispatched to a West Pioneer Boulevard store, reference a Temporary Protective Order violation. The female adult victim informed the officer of the incident. The Officer located the violator and placed him in custody.

 

n      Suicidal person: June 20 -- An officer was dispatched to the Virgin River Casino, reference a female juvenile who threatened to commit suicide. Officers contacted the juvenile and her mother and learned the juvenile had no physical injuries. The mother transported her daughter to a hospital in Las Vegas for a mental evaluation.

 

n      Controlled substance problem: June 20 -- Officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation on West Pioneer Boulevard. A police K9 search of the vehicle resulted in the adult male driver being arrested for traffic violations, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.

 

n      Fighting: June 20 -- Officer responded to the Stateline Casino reference a battery involving two adult males and one adult female. The suspects left the scene prior to police arrival. The male victim requested to pursue battery charges. Investigation is ongoing.

 

n      Burglary: June 20 -- Police responded to a burglary of a Harbour Drive residence in which a firearm was stolen. A report was taken for the burglary and officers are currently attempting to locate the suspect(s).

 

n      Traffic accident without injury: June 20 -- Officer responded to Chaparral Drive and Paloma Circle, reference a traffic accident. Officer obtained several photographs of the traffic scene and proved both drivers with a drivers exchange form.

 

n      Burglary: June 20 -- Police responded to a report of an attempted burglary at a local residence. A report was taken for the incident and officers are currently attempting to locate the suspect(s).

 

n      Vandalism: June 20 -- Officer responded to a Kitty Hawk Drive apartment complex, reference damage to a motor vehicle. Officer is currently investigating the property damage to the vehicle.

 

n      Suspicious person/circumstance: June 20 -- Officer responded to a Madrigal Drive residence, reference a suspicious circumstance. Officer is currently investigating the incident.

 

n      Theft: June 20 -- Officer responded to a Auto Mall Circle business, reference theft from a travel trailer. Officer obtained the information and is currently attempting to locate the suspect(s) involved with the theft.

 

n      Burglary: June 20 -- Police responded to a burglary at a Concord Drive residence. A report was taken for the incident. Officers are currently attempting to locate the suspect(s).

 

n      Dead body: June 20 -- Officers responded to a Pinehurst Drive residence for a report of a deceased person. The Clark County Coroner's Office was contacted to respond.

 

n      Mental person: June 20 -- Officers assisted a mentally ill person on Bannock Street who was later transported to the hospital.

 

n      Person on foot: June 21 -- Officers located a suspicious juvenile on West Mesquite Boulevard who was out past curfew. Officers arrested the female for curfew and possession of drug paraphernalia.

 

n      Found property: June 21 -- While conducting a traffic stop on the I-15 freeway, southbound, an officer located paperwork belonging to a subject living in California. The officer collected the paperwork and placed it into the evidence vault for safekeeping.

 

n      Theft: June 21 -- Officers responded to a Spyglass Way neighborhood for a report of a theft of landscape material. A citation was issued for petit larceny.

 

n      Wanted person: June 21 -- Officer made contact with a female who had a warrant out for her arrest. The warrant and transportation were confirmed. The female was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

 

n      Suspicious person/circumstance: June 21 -- Officer responded to local hospital for a report of a suspicious situation. A report was taken.

 

n      Theft From vehicle: June 21 -- Officer responded to a Concord Drive residence, reference theft from a motor vehicle. Officer is currently attempting to locate the suspect (s) involved with the theft.

 

n      Sexual assault: June 21 -- Officer received a letter from an individual indicating a crime had been committed in Mesquite. Investigation into the incident is on going.

 

n      Traffic stop: June 21 -- An officer conducted a traffic stop at Falcon Ridge and Leavitt Way on a vehicle for speeding. The adult driver was arrested for traffic violations.

 

n      Stolen property: June 21 -- Officer took a report of a stolen bicycle.

 

n      Wanted Person: June 21 -- While on routine on Mesa Boulevard patrol officers located and arrested a white male on a Mesquite Municipal Court bench warrant.

 

n      Minor gambling: June 22 -- An officer was dispatched to a local casino, in reference to a minor gambling. A 20 year old female was later cited and released for minor gambling.

 

n      Burglary: June 22 -- Police responded to a burglary at a Sea Pines Street residence. A report was taken for the incident. Officers are currently attempting to locate the suspect(s).

 

n      Temporary Protective Order/restraining order/subpoena: June 22 -- Management from Bluffs Apartment Complex requested a civil standby regarding a request from a tenant to retrieve some medical documentation for the hospital in Mesquite. He had been admitted to the hospital and was unable to retrieve the medical documentation.

 

n      Traffic accident with damage: June 22 -- A vehicle accident in the parking lot of the Summerwinds Apartment Complex. Driver one reversed out of a parking stall and struck another vehicle traveling in the parking lot. Minor damage to both vehicles. A drivers exchange was completed.

 

n      Wanted person: June 22 -- Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a minor traffic violation on Riverside Road. The male adult driver had a misdemeanor warrant out of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The driver was arrested for the warrant and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center, where he awaits transportation to the Clark County Detention Center.

 

n      Suspicious/vehicle: June 22 -- Report of an older model Honda Civic speeding around a Mesquite neighborhood revving it's engine. Vehicle was located with the driver being issued citation.

 

n      Vandalism: June 22 -- Officer's responded to a report of Vandalism to a block wall on West Hafen Lane, located along the Mesquite trial system. Officer's observed a section of a block wall where several cinder blocks had been pulled from the top three levels of the block wall.

 

n      Traffic accident with damage: June 23 -- Officer responded to a Mesa Boulevard parking lot, reference a non-injury traffic accident. Officer conducted the investigation and completed the drivers exchanged forms.

 

n      Vandalism: June 23 -- A subject contacted the Mesquite Police Department as a Home Owners Association representative (H.O.A) regarding vandalism to Mountain View Estates property on Partridge Lane. Officer arrived and verified damage had been done to Mountain View Estates property.

 

n      Hit and run: June 23 -- Officer responded to a parking lot on Mesa Boulevard reference a non-injury hit-and-run accident. Officer conducted the investigation and is currently attempting to locate the vehicle that left the scene of the accident.

 

n      Traffic stop: June 23 -- Police were conducting a traffic stop on Interstate 15 (northbound) when it was discovered the driver had an outstanding warrant. The driver was taken into custody for the warrant and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.

 

n      Juvenile problem: June 23 -- Officer responded to a Moss Drive residence reference a juvenile problem. Officers spoke with the juvenile's parents and they advised they would handle the issues involving the juveniles.

 

n      Domestic trouble: June 23 -- Officer responded to a Kelkim Street residence reference a verbal argument. Officers spoke with individuals involved and they agreed to separate for the night.
