Editor’s note: The following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for June 10-16. Individuals listed here should be presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:
n Domestic trouble: June 10 -- Officers responded to an East Pioneer Boulevard casino in reference to a domestic battery. After an investigation was conducted an adult male was taken into custody for domestic battery and trespassing.
n Theft from vehicle: June 10 -- Officer responded to local gated community on West Mesquite Boulevard in reference to theft from several vehicles. The officer initiated an investigation and located several vehicles that had been broken into.
n Runaway juvenile: June 10 -- An officer responded to an East First North Street residence reference a female juvenile who had run away from home. The juvenile was later located by her parents in another state with family members.
n Theft from vehicle: June 10 -- An officer responded to Auto Mall Circle in reference to a theft from vehicle report. The incident is currently under investigation.
n Hit and run: June 10 -- An officer responded to a Santa Maria Way residence for a report of a hit-and-run accident. Officer located the suspect vehicle and following an investigation, one male juvenile was cited and released.
n Theft-bicycle: June 10 -- An officer responded to a Honeysuckle Court residence, reference a theft report. An adult female reported a bicycle was stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
n Theft-bicycle: June 10 -- Mesquite City Police were dispatched to a Grayce Drive residence to investigate a theft of a bicycle. Investigation is ongoing.
n Burglary: June 10 -- An officer was dispatched to a Thistle Street residence, reference a burglary. The officer took the initial report and the investigation is ongoing.
n Disorderly conduct: June 10 -- Officers responded to a Peartree Lane residence for a report of an intoxicated adult male that had become disorderly. Following an investigation, the adult male left the residence for the night.
n Hit-and-run accident: June 11 -- Officers responded to a parking lot on Mesa Boulevard, reference a hit-and-run. A parked vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.
n Theft from vehicle: June 11 -- An officer responded to a Pinyon Lane residence in reference to a theft from vehicle report. The incident is currently under investigation.
n Citizen dispute: June 11 -- Officers responded to a Tucson Street residence in reference to a dispute between neighbors. After an investigation an adult male was arrested for breach of peace.
n Traffic stop: June 11 -- Police conducted a traffic stop in the northbound side of Interstate 15. When the officer conducted an investigation on the stop, it was discovered the driver and passenger had possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Both individuals were cited.
n Burglary: June 11 -- Mesquite police officer responded to a Beacon Ridge Way residence reference a residential burglary. An investigation was conducted and Mesquite Police determined someone had unlawfully entered the residence. Mesquite Investigative Service Division will continue the investigation.
n Controlled substance problem: June 11 -- A vehicle was stopped by a Mesquite police officer on Falcon Ridge Parkway, following a traffic violation. Officers contacted two adult males, and subsequent to a K9 drug sniff, both occupants of the vehicle were arrested for drug trafficking charges.
n Theft: June 12 -- An officer took a report of an alleged theft of medication. The victim requested the incident be documented and the investigation is ongoing.
n Person on foot: June 12 -- Officers contacted an adult male who was walking in the roadway at East Pioneer Boulevard and Mesa Boulevard and was intoxicated. The subject was arrested for intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway.
n Civil matter: June 12 -- An officer responded to a Hagens Alley residence in reference to a civil matter. The complainant requested information on evicting her estrange husband from her residence. I advised the complainant to contact the family court for further information.
n Abandoned vehicle: June 12 -- An officer responded to a local casino in reference to an abandoned vehicle left on private property. The employee of the casino had the vehicle towed at the owner's expense.
n Found property: June 12 -- An officer responded to a gas station on Falcon Ridge Parkway in reference to a found property report. The property owner was located and the item was released.
n Lost property: June 12 -- An officer responded to the lobby of the police department in reference to a lost property report. The complainant was advised if the item is located she will be notified.
n Domestic trouble: June 12 -- Officers responded to a local residence for a report of a domestic battery. An investigation was conducted and an adult male was placed into custody.
n Citizen dispute: June 12 -- An officer responded to an East First South Street address in reference to a citizen dispute. The complainant requested the incident be a matter of record only.
n Civil Matter: June 13 -- An officer received a telephone call from another state in reference to a landlord tenant dispute.
n Identity theft: June 13 -- Officer responded to the police department, reference identity theft. The complainant requested this incident be documented. I provided the complainant with the incident number for insurance purpose (s).
n Domestic trouble: June 13 -- Officer responded to a Tucson Street residence reference a verbal dispute between a male and female. Upon arrival the male had left the residence. The investigation resulted in a verbal dispute and not a physical altercation.
n Driving under the influence: June 13 -- Officers were advised of a possible drunken driver located at the Rebel Gas Station adjacent to the southbound Interstate 15 off-ramp. Officers located and arrested the male driver for driving under the influence of alcohol.
n Trespassing: June 13 -- Officers responded to a local fast food restaurant on East Pioneer Boulevard referencing a suspicious person. Officers contacted, identified, and arrested the male subject for trespassing.
n Lost property: June 13 -- An officer took a report for a lost cell phone on Woodbury Lane.
n Minor gambling: June 15 -- An officer was dispatched to an East Pioneer Boulevard casino, in reference to a minor gambling. An adult minor was later cited and released for minor gambling.
n Burglary: June 15 -- An officer responded to a local residence in reference to a burglary. The incident is currently under investigation.
n Theft-bicycle: June 15 -- Officers responded to a bicycle theft from a Leavitt Lane residence. A report was taken for the incident. Police are currently attempting to locate the suspect(s).
n Wanted person: June 15 -- Officer made contact with a male on Mesa Boulevard with an active warrant out of Mesquite Municipal Court. The male was arrested and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.
n Officer responded to a hit and run in a local casino's parking lot. Officer conducted an investigation and was unable to identify the suspect vehicle, which was involved with the hit and run.
n Hit and run: June 15 -- Officer responded to a local casino's parking lot on East Pioneer Boulevard, reference a hit and run. Officer conducted the investigation and was unable to identify the suspect vehicle.
n Traffic stop: June 15 -- An officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle on West Pioneer Boulevard. The juvenile driver was cited and released to her guardian. An adult male passenger was found to have several warrants out of Las Vegas. He was taken into custody and transported by Las Vegas officers back to Las Vegas.
n Panhandling: June 15 -- Officers responded to an East Pioneer Boulevard fast food restaurant referencing a male and female panhandling. The male and female were identified and arrested for panhandling.
n Suspicious person/circumstance: June 15 -- Officers responded to a West Mesquite Boulevard casino referencing a suspicious circumstances call. Officers spoke with a casino surveillance officers concerning an employee who was being investigated for theft by Clark County Gaming.
n Traffic accident without injury: June 16 -- Officers responded to a single vehicle accident. The driver left the vehicle and fled the scene of the accident.
n Fighting: June 16 -- Officers were dispatched to a West Pioneer Boulevard night club, in reference to a fight in progress, in the parking lot. Several subjects who had been involved in the fight were identified, but the people they had been fighting had already left the area.
n Keep the peace: June 16 -- An officer responded to a Mesa Boulevard residence for a keep the peace.
n Domestic trouble: June 16 -- Officers responded to a Joshua Drive residence for a report of a verbal family fight.
n Traffic accident without injury: June 16 -- Officers responded to a non-injury accident on I-15 near exit 122. A traffic accident report was taken.
n Traffic stop: June 16 -- Officers located an intoxicated adult male and female exit a local grocery store on North Sandhill Boulevard. Officers conducted a traffic stop and the male was arrested for driving under the influence.
n Traffic violation: June 17 -- Officer stopped a vehicle on Interstate 15 for a traffic violation. The adult male driver was cited and released. The adult male passenger was arrested for open container of alcohol.
n Attempt to locate: June 17 -- Officers were dispatched to northbound Interstate 15 within city limits reference numerous calls reporting a reckless/intoxicated driver on the highway. Officers located the vehicle and during the investigation the subject was arrested for driving under the influence.
