Editor’s Note: the following was taken from the pages of the Mesquite Police Department blotter for Aug. 19-25, 2012. But due to technical problems, the Aug. 19 activity is not listed.
Domestic trouble: Aug. 20 -- An officer responded to a North Willow Street residence for a domestic disturbance. A report was taken and the parties were separated for 24 hours.
Theft: Aug. 20 -- Police responded to a theft at a North Sandhill Boulevard gas station. A male adult stole a can of beer. Video surveillance was observed and a report was taken. Officers are currently attempting to locate the suspect.
Domestic trouble: Aug. 20 -- Officers responded to a Mesa Boulevard residence, reference a report of a domestic battery, which occurred the day prior. Officers contacted an adult female who reported she was involved in a physical altercation with her ex-boyfriend. Officers contacted the adult male and were unable to determine if a domestic battery occurred. Both individuals live at different residences and are separated.
Hit and run: Aug. 21 -- Officers responded to a Hawk Street residence referencing a hit and run accident. Officers spoke with the owner of the unattended vehicle which had been damaged, however, the search for the offending vehicle is ongoing.
Suicidal person: Aug. 21 -- Officers responded to the Virgin River Casino, reference a possible suicidal subject. Officers were unable to locate the individual involved.
Driving under the influence: Aug. 21 -- An officer made a contact on Falcon Ridge Parkway with a suspicious vehicle that had been reported earlier in the evening. After an investigation the adult driver and adult passenger were arrested for drug related charges.
Fraud: Aug. 21 -- Police responded to a report a subject attempting to purchase an item with a fraudulent check at a West Pioneer Boulevard business. A report was taken for the incident.
Trespassing: Aug. 21 -- Officers responded to a North Sandhill Boulevard business, reference a trespass incident. An adult male was observed walking on the property which he had previously been trespassed from. A citation was issued to the male for trespassing.
Traffic violation: Aug. 21 -- Officer conducted a traffic stop on East Old Mill Road on an adult male, resulting in the arrest for driving without a valid driver’s license. The male additionally had a warrant of arrest, issued through North Las Vegas Municipal Court. The male was arrested per the warrant.
Trespassing: Aug. 22 -- Officers responded to the Virgin River Casino, reference a trespass violator. Officers contacted an adult male who had been previously trespassed from the property. The male was arrested for trespass violation and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center.
Controlled substance problem: Aug. 22 -- Officer conducted a traffic stop southbound on Interstate 15 on a vehicle with inoperable tail lamps. The driver received several traffic citations as well as being cited for possessing drug paraphernalia.
Traffic accident without injury: Aug. 23 -- Officers were dispatched to Mesa Boulevard for a reported one-vehicle accident. The officer arrived determined there were no injuries. During the course of the investigation the driver of the vehicle was arrested for DUI.
Theft from vehicle: Aug. 23 -- Officer responded to a local Apartment complex, reference a report of theft from a vehicle. The unlocked vehicle was entered during the evening hours and a small amount of cash was stolen. The owner of the vehicle made the report as a matter of information.
Theft: Aug. 23 -- Officer responded to a Sun Valley Drive residence, reference a theft of money from a vehicle. Vehicle owner discovered a male juvenile inside the vehicle and detained juvenile until police arrived. The juvenile was charged with petit larceny and released to his mother.
Theft: Aug. 23 -- Officers responded to a Sun Valley Drive residence referencing a domestic disturbance call. Officer’s investigation revealed the individuals inside the residence had several stolen items in their possession. All three subjects were arrested on theft charges.
Trespassing: Aug. 23 -- An officer responded to a East Pioneer Boulevard casino hotel for a trespassing problem. An adult male refused to leave and was taken into custody.
Traffic stop: Aug. 23 -- Officers conducted a traffic stop on an adult male at East Pioneer and Mesa boulevards. The male was subsequently arrested for driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Missing person: Aug. 23 -- An officer responded to a Hillside Drive residence for a report of a missing adult male. The adult was located without incident.
Welfare Check: Aug. 24 -- Officer responded to a Mesa Springs Drive residence, reference a welfare check, requested by an out-of-state residence. Officer found the owner of residence to be deceased, which was later determined by the Clark County Coroner, to be by natural causes.
Suicidal person: Aug. 24 -- Officers were dispatched to a South Hafen Lane residence for a report of an attempted suicide. Officers arrived and made contact with subject. The subject requested mental help and was transported to the hospital where he can receive the help.
Sexual assault: Aug. 24 -- A 33-year-old female called from out of state, reporting that she had been raped on August 18, 2012. Victim will return to Mesquite on Aug. 25, 2012, to file a formal report.
Medical emergency: Aug. 24 -- Officers responded to a Desert Winds Way residence for a report of a possible overdose of medication. An adult female was transported to the hospital for treatment.
Theft: Aug. 24 -- An officer responded to a East Pioneer Boulevard convenience store reference a theft. Following an investigation, an adult male was cited and released for petit larceny.
Traffic stop: Aug. 25 -- An officer conducted a East Pioneer Boulevard traffic stop on a vehicle for driving without headlights. Following an investigation, an adult female was taken into custody for driving under the influence.
Fraud: Aug. 25 – Citizen requested a report for an unlawful transaction on her credit card. Citizen later discovered it was not fraud, but a mistake.
Theft from vehicle: Aug. 25 -- An officer responded to a report of property stolen from a motor vehicle during repairs at a West Mesquite Boulevard business.
Traffic accident with damage: Aug. 25 -- Officers responded to a property damage accident located on private property on West Pioneer Boulevard. Both drivers of the vehicles involved were provided with copies of the completed driver exchange form.
Phone harassment: Aug. 25 -- An officer met with an adult male and an adult female about harassment issue involving an ex-boyfriend. A report was taken.
