Mesquite Police Officers arrested a Utah man Wednesday evening, September 26th after a routine traffic stop for a minor traffic violation.
Jose Ramon Polanco, 41, of Hurricane, Utah was stopped by officers for driving without headlamps after leaving a local casino. Polanco refused to cooperate with officers and then fled the scene at a high rate of speed. Polanco then attempted to elude officers by entering onto northbound Interstate 15 into Arizona.
After a brief pursuit by Arizona Department of Public Safety (ADPS) Polanco was taken into custody and transported to the Mesquite Detention Center (MDC) where he was charged with Reckless Driving, Eluding an Officer, Due Care, No Proof of insurance, Seatbelt Required, Obedience to a Police Officer, Unlicensed Driver, and Headlamps Required. Polanco is also facing several felony charges by ADPS.
