The Mesquite Police Department is presenting Mesquite Night Out on Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Mesquite Recreation Center, 100 W. Old Mill Road.
There will be demonstrations of Less Lethal munitions, Tazer, K9 search and rescue, extrication from a vehicle, fire extinguisher use and Mercy air will land their “Flight for Life” helicopter.
Mesquite Fire and Rescue will also be putting on a puppet show teaching fire safety for the kids. Parents will be able to have their children fingerprinted by Nevada Child Seekers and the Mesquite Elks Lodge No. 2311 will be serving hotdogs and drinks during the event.
At 5:15 p.m. a procession of police, fire and other public safety vehicles will drive through town from the Oasis Hotel parking lot to the Mesquite Recreation Center.
At 5:30 p.m. the Veterans Honor Guard will present the colors to kick off the event.
The demonstrations will begin at 6:30 p.m. until the conclusion of the event at 7:30 p.m.
