All interested citizens are invited to a community forum on issues with the Overton Power District to be held on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 5-7 p.m., at the Holiday Inn, 1030 W. Pioneer Blvd. (formerly the Falcon Ridge Hotel).
There will be several short presentations by ratepayers who are knowledgeable on the OPD issues, on rural power companies and related agencies and regulations, and on rate determination for rural power companies, as well as a discussion regarding possible future electrical power options for citizens of Mesquite.
“There will be ample time for comments, questions and discussions from attendees,” noted Elaine Hurd of the Clark County Rural Democratic Caucus. “This is an opportunity to discuss the OPD situation with your fellow ratepayers in an open forum that is not controlled by OPD or by government officials.”
