The Falcon Ridge Golf Club held their eighth annual “Revenge of the Turkey” Golf Tournament on November 23 at Falcon Ridge Golf Course and raised $250 for the Salvation Army Angel Tree Program. The check was presented, to Roberta Franco, Salvation Army Representative. The tournament was a two man scramble fun event as flag sticks were placed in almost unmanageable positions. A ‘gimmee, was taken after four putts on the hole. ‘We always have a fun and great time. We hope to make this a city wide event next year, “said Councilman and tournament rep. Geno Withelder.
The annual Angel Tree Program gift give away will be held on December 13. “Golf for Kids” tournament held that day supplies all the gifts for Angel Tree program, “said Franco Salvation Army spokeswoman. ‘We will have 500 golfers this year playing on four courses. The courses are donated and each player entry fee is a $50 toe or donation, “added Withelder. Simple math says, 500 golfers times $50 equals $25,000 in toys and cash will be raised during the tournament. “We have selected 80 families who met strict income requirements to participate this year. Their children will receive a shirt, sweat shirt and pants plus toys, “said Franco.
