Council to consider flood control plan

The city’s 2012 Flood Control Master Plan Update is to be reviewed Tuesday, Aug. 14, by the Mesquite City Council. If approved during the 5 p.m. meeting in the council chambers at city hall, 10 E. Mesquite Blvd., the council also is to recommend the Regional Flood Control District Board adopt it.

The council also is to review for passage an interlocal agreement with the Regional Transportation Commission to maintain and reconstruct city streets. An unrelated, second supplemental contract with the RTC is to be considered for the Lower Flat Top Drive Roadway Project.

Forsegren Associates, Inc., also is to seek an amendment to its contract for design and bidding services for the Pioneer Shared Use Path Project during the meeting.

Two public hearings also are scheduled for bills to allow LED lighting and electronic message boards on signs within city limits.

The council also is to be asked to donate $1,600 to the Gold Butte Days street festival, Oct. 12-13.
