On Sept. 15, the payout for the Powerball Lottery was an estimated $131.9 million.
The winning lottery numbers were 03, 20, 26, 43 and 48. And the Powerball number was 01.
There were four tickets that won the $1 million Match 5 prize. They were purchased in New York, Ohio, Texas and at the Beaver Dam Lodge in Beaver Dam, Ariz.
But that winning $1 million ticket has yet to be claimed.
Lori Black, owner and manager of the Beaver Dam Lodge says, “ I have a group of players that come in and purchase multiple draws on the same card, they come into town about every five weeks; I can’t wait until they come back and we check the tickets. I’m just waiting to scan a ticket and hear all the bells and whistles that blow when a ticket is a winner.”
Beaver Dam Lodge had just been selling the lottery tickets about a month when Black received a call from the Arizona Lottery Commission informing her that she had sold the million dollar winning ticket. Black said she checked on the status of winners in Arizona and the last large winner in the Arizona Strip area was sold about 12 years ago at the Beaver Dam Station.
Prizes for the Powerball jackpot must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing date. If you win, you have 60 days to choose your payment options, either a 30-year annuity or a lump-sum payment of approximately half the amount of the entire jackpot.
Drawings are held every Wednesday and Saturday evenings, the next expected jackpot is $50 million; the drawing is to be held on Wednesday, Oct. 3.
