Mesquite Gaming is once again sponsoring the two-day Mesquite Hot Air Balloon Festival on Saturday, January 26 & Sunday, January 27, 2013 at the CasaBlanca Resort & Casino and the CasaBlanca Golf Club Driving Range. Weather permitting, on both Saturday and Sunday morning just after sunrise at approximately 7:30AM, a dazzling array of over 25 spectacular hot air balloons will launch from the CasaBlanca Driving Range. Though parking around the driving range is somewhat limited, other great visual vantage points in Mesquite such as the Mesquite Sports & Events Complex are available for spectators to park and watch the launch.
The skies above Mesquite, Nevada will be bursting with the color and splendor of these magnificent balloons. Wanting to make this awesome festival truly extraordinary, the CasaBlanca has planned a wide variety of fun and entertaining activities throughout the day. Spectators will be able to indulge not only in the visual feast of the balloons, but also culinary, musical and many more delights for the whole family. On Friday, January 25th, Mesquite Gaming has even arranged for Mr. Gayle McCoy, The Festival Balloon Meister and Pilot Ingrid Martell from Sparks, NV to conduct a hot air balloon demonstration at the Virgin Valley Elementary school to give the children the opportunity to learn more about these fascinating vehicles.
What better way to celebrate the majesty of the hot air balloons than a special champagne tasting? The CasaBlanca Resort & Casino will host this tasting in the Skydome Lounge on Saturday, January 26 from 4PM-6PM. This part of the festival is free to the public, but participants must be 21 years and older to attend. Immediately following the champagne tasting and pushing the “wow” factor over the limit, will be the night glow on Saturday evening at the CasaBlanca Resort & Casino from 6PM-7PM. As the DJ plays music, the night will come alive with intense color as the tethered balloons are “fired up.” The 2013 Mesquite Balloon Festival is definitely a “not-to-be-missed,” spectacular event.
