The "Mesquitos on the Run,” the community’s running club, has scheduled a Jan. 1 “Resolution Run.”
“Do your New Year's resolutions include improving fitness, getting into shape or losing weight?” asked Terri Rylander, club spokesman. “Would you like to begin a running or walking program? Would you like to be part of a group for motivation?”
Rylander said to kick off 2013 and help motivate the Mesquite community toward a healthier lifestyle, the Mesquitos on the Run plans to host the "Resolution Run" on New Year's Day.
“This free event is open to anyone, of any ability or fitness level,” she added. “Walkers are welcome.”
The Resolution Run is to start at 9 a.m. from the CasaBlanca Hotel and Casino parking lot adjacent to McDonald’s. The planned route is a 3-mile loop, with shorter out-and-back options.
“The pace will be per individual desire and fitness level, with no one left behind,” Rylanders said. “Afterwards, club members will be available to discuss our weekly club run schedule and our upcoming race plans. The club will also offer personalized guidance and advice if desired. “
To participate, just show up the parking area before 9 a.m. on New Year’s Day and look for runners. For more information, or to get involved in other run club activities, send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or call Gary at (702)-613-4250.
