Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested James Nephi Nelson, 35, of Beaver Dam, Wednesday (7/11) evening on two counts of aggravated assault per domestic violence, felonies, and disorderly conduct, misdemeanor.
Approximately 10:53 p.m., deputies along with an officer from Arizona Department of Public Safety responded to a domestic violence call at a residence in the 3200 block of East Old Pioneer Road. The reporting party said that Nelson, her husband, had beaten her up. Dispatch advised that Nelson was being held down by two male subjects.
Beaver Dam man arrested on felony charges
Upon arrival, deputies contacted Nelson. During conversations with Nelson, he said that his wife pushed him and he slapped her with an open hand. Further conversations with Nelson, he said that their son got in his face and he slapped him with an open hand.
Deputies contacted Nelson’s wife and their son. The victims reported that Nelson punched them both in the face with a closed fist. Deputies contacted a witness and the witness advised observing Nelson punch his son in the face.
Both victims were transported to Mesa View Hospital in Mesquite, Nevada. Nelson was taken into custody without incident. He was transported and booked into the Mesquite Jail.
