Saturday, Nov. 17, the student artists of the Get Smart with Art class left their drawing class at the Mesquite Fine Art Gallery, 15 W. Mesquite Blvd., and walked next door to the Virgin Valley Heritage Museum where artifacts are displayed in observance of Native American Month.

Their art instructor, Diana Coonradt, asked them to choose an object to sketch and paint.  By the end of their class they each had finished a nice painting.

The Get Smart with Art class is free to students in the Mesquite community, sponsored by the Virgin Valley Artists Association with funding from the Nevada Arts Council, City of Mesquite, Greater Mesquite Arts Foundation, Mesquite Resort Association and generous businesses and individual donors.
