The Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery and Bill Mitchell Farmers Insurance Agency, hosted an artists awards reception Wednesday, Aug. 22, according to Linda Faas, president of the Virgin Valley Artists Association.

This month’s sponsored exhibit was entitled Light and Shadow.

Faas said Mitchell gave cash prizes to the Judge's Choice winners: Bunny Wiseman, Susan Holladay, and Ralph LeMaster.

He then announced the Sponsor's Choice selection, an eye-catching photograph of a fox entitled "Burnt Field Hunt" by Sue Williamson.

Sally Sinclair took home the "People's Choice" award for "Alter Ego,” a colored-pencil drawing.

“Congratulations to all!” Faas added. The exhibit will be on display at the gallery, 15 W. Mesquite Blvd., through Saturday, Sept. 1.
