American Idol has gained a variety of viewers this season, but at the same time has lost some due to decisions the voters have made when it comes to elimination every week. Frustrations happen no matter what the votes say, but one thing that seems to be consistent is the judges.
Randy Jackson is a Grammy Award-winning producer and a twenty year veteran in the industry. Since he has appeared on Idol, he has done a variety of charitable fund raisers around the world, not to mention his continuing work producing other types of shows such as “Americas Best Dance Crew.”
Jennifer Lopez is a woman of many talents, as she sings, dances, acts and is just plain beautiful. Her persona generates a positive energy among her peers and contestants. She has sold over 55 million records and continues to star in movie rolls while producing music videos. Her film credits are plentiful and if I read this correctly... she was chosen to star in a possible remake of the 1980’s movie “Overboard”. Lopez is successful in every area; she also dresses the part well.
Now to my favorite guy, Steven Tyler; yes it’s true I am a 70’s child and proud of it. Rock-n-Roll was up and coming with several types of bands, including Aerosmith. Remembering the first glimpse I got of Steven Tyler while singing his hit single “Dream On”, I couldn’t believe the size of his mouth. It made me think of Mick Jagger as he sang his famous song “Jumping Jack Flash”, but to no avail ... Steven has great Karma and continues to wear his scarves (as it’s part of his trademark), along with his flashy style. It doesn’t seem to matter if it’s 1973 or 2012 ... Steven Tyler has “Mojo.” Women of all ages clearly find him sexy in his own way; which has increased some female viewers this year. Now Burger King is cashing in on his new found Idol status. If you haven’t had a chance to see it, you could look online and find it on YouTube or Idols home page. Personally, I enjoy it and find it humorous. Can you imagine driving in their drive-thru window and getting Steven Tyler? Wishful thinking on my part, but I will admit ... it made me go and try the chicken nuggets with Kung pao sauce. Actually they weren’t bad; however I had thoughts of Steven running through my head with those crazy heart glasses on. I thought the commercial was done tastefully, and the choice to use Steven was smart; now I’m curious to know if sales have improved for Burger King (?) Hmmmm.
Anyways, Idol this week will be good as always, as there is so much talent. My eyes are always on Steven however, wondering what he will wear next and how he reacts to the contestants after their performance. He definitely brings a lot of ooooos and aaaaahhhhs to the show. I love to talk about him after the show, besides the performances. Well, I am excited it’s that time of week again, so Good Luck to the remaining four ... and keep smiling Steven!
Make your week count.
