When you hear the letters T – L – C together, most generally associate them as an abbreviation for ‘Tender Loving Care.’
Not in Mesquite, however.
Here, TLC is becoming a good branding name for The Lindi Corp, a small appliance, plumbing and electric repair company that has been focusing on Mesquite since 2009.
The Lindi Corp, which started out in 1999 as a Nevada Corporation, is named after Chandler’s mother, Lindi. “It just seemed right,” he said.
Rooted in Overton, owner Paul Chandler and his family used to operate the Overton Beach Marina. However, when the drought in 2007 came along, Chandler felt it was time to make a permanent move to Mesquite.
“We had a home in Mesquite that we would ‘get away’ to on the weekends. It was nice to have a place to vacation to that wasn’t all that far away. When things turned around in 2007, we decided to make it a permanent move, and here we are,” Chandler said.
When creating his business model, Chandler didn’t want to be just another ‘handyman’ in town. Instead, he found a niche that was needed and one he knew could be done right.
“We offer the perfect mix: electrical, appliance, and plumbing repair. It’s our specialty,” he said.
This year, with The Best of Mesquite contest, The Lindi Corp took 1st place for Best Customer Service, a new category introduced this year by Mesquite Local News. And Chandler backs that up with The Lindi Corp’s philosophy; a 1-visit solution goal: fix it right the first time, and at the right price. That’s why if you ever get a chance to drive behind one of his trucks, it appears as though he has one of everything. “We try to keep everything supplied so that we don’t have to waste the time of going back and forth to the stores. Our time is saved, and it saves the customer money. It just makes sense,” said Chandler.
Within the last year, The Lindi Corp has undergone some changes to bring more to Mesquite. They’ve opened up an actual storefront at the old Post Office, next to Maverick at 50 N. Sandhill Blvd. “It was time to bring something more to Mesquite,” said Chandler. “We will have everything there for customers to purchase, from appliances to top of the line (but affordable) water purification systems.”
To celebrate, The Lindi Corp is doing a special drawing for those who stop by their store and fill out a ticket. On October 15, 2012, they will draw one random winner who will receive a brand new Watermaker 5 Reverse Osmosis System. No purchase is necessary, and customers are encouraged to stop by anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
