Taco Bell will be opening on April 28, according to project manager Dean Schick of Westland Construction of St George, Utah.
“The construction is right on schedule,” Schick said
The company that has this Taco Bell franchise, Desert de Oro Foods, Inc., of Kingman, Ariz., will operate the restaurant at 450 N. Sandhill Blvd., on the site of the former Burger King.
Employment opportunities are still open, Schick said. Taco Bell is looking for assistant managers, shift leaders, and team leaders. Training is anticipated to run three to four weeks. Applicants can email for employment applications firstname.lastname@example.org or apply online at tacobell.com/careers.
According to the Desert de Oro Foods website, www.tacos.com, it is Arizona’s largest Taco Bell franchisee, established in 1982.
The family-owned company operates 117 YUM! Brand franchises, which include Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Long John Silver’s and KFC stores in three states. The website doesn’t mention any Nevada locations.
The brother and sister founders of the company, Mark Peterson and Krystal (Peterson) Burge say they take inspiration from their family and from brand founder Glen Bell, whom they describe as “a great role model.”
They note they believe a business has an obligation to provide a return to the community so they encourage all of their locations to be active members of the local chamber of commerce. They also support many youth activities.
