In 2009, after learning about Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue Joan and Fred started the application process to open a satellite donkey adoption rescue center in Scenic AZ. In 2010 the first of many rescued donkeys arrived to begin their transition from wild/homeless/abused animals to ones with forever loving homes.

Fred loved family, friends, and dogs  but donkeys were his passion.

The adoption center participated in many local events and people remember talking to the man in the “cowboy hat” about the rescue donkeys.

A private gathering of friends and family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, and in keeping with Fred’s spirit of giving, memorial contributions may be made to Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue  PO Box 1094 Mesquite Nevada 89024
