Saturday evening is fast approaching when people of all ages can walk or run for a good cause. The Mesquite Rotary’s Second Annual Glow Run is going to be a fun and exciting event.

Everyone is encouraged to come and help the night “glow” with a neon t-shirt for each participant to wear and glow sticks for the run.

Immediately following the Glow Run will be Rotary’s Twelfth Annual Glow in The Dark Golf Ball Drop where entrants could win some wonderful prizes and a chance at the grand prize of $1,000 cash!  Tickets for the ball drop are $20 each or six for $100 and may be purchased in advance through a Mesquite Rotary member or at the event.

Proceeds from these events benefit the Mesquite Reads Program which strives to have all Third grade children reading by grade level, Special Olympics, Virgin Valley Food Bank, Day Springs Youth Ranch, high school scholarships and other youth initiatives.

The Oct. Brown Bag Lecture Series at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery on Tuesday will highlight “Fossils of Southern Nevada and Utah” presented by Andrew Milner. Grab a sack lunch and join other interested art lovers for this one hour lecture.

Join your neighbors and police officers for coffee and conversation on National Coffee with a Cop Day.

The mission of Coffee with a Cop is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve by removing agendas and allowing opportunities to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in your neighborhood.

Remember to send in those event notices, the summer is coming to an end and things are going to be happening that you’ll want folks to know about. Send them to terin.bbm@gmail.com so you can everyone know what’s happening with your group or club.
