It’s time for the Mesquite Fine Arts Annual Invitational again; the Virgin Valley Artists have invited six galleries from around the Virgin Valley to display their work at the Mesquite Fine Arts Center.

This year’s Invitational included art from Boulder City Art Guild, Moapa Art Guild, Southern Utah Watercolor Society, Left of Center Art Gallery, City Lights Art Gallery, Color Country Camera Club and The Virgin Valley Artists Association.  Artists from these galleries will be displaying over 100 oil, acrylic, pottery, digital photography and mixed media pieces throughout the month of September.

You’ll want to reach out and feel the petals on the “The Wild Rose”, the detail is so fine. This piece was painted in oil by artist Susan Perez. Photo by Teri Nehrenz

A reception will be held at the Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery on Sep. 29 from 2-4 p.m.  No awards are given for the Invitational; the art is for enjoyment only. The Invitational is open to artists all over the region so they can gain more exposure by working cooperatively with other galleries, network or even find some inspiration from other artist’s work.

The Mesquite Fine Arts Gallery is a city-owned facility, operated by the Virgin Valley Artists Association. VVAA members provide the original artwork that is shown in the gallery and gift shop. All art is offered for sale and displays are changed monthly. In addition to the special exhibitions, members show their works in a wide variety of mediums.
