Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 167 calls this week:

July 29:

False information: Officers responded to a Highland Dr. hotel reference a trespassing call. One adult male was booked into the Mesquite Detention Center for obstruction of justice.

Wanted person: Officers conducted a traffic stop for speeding; one adult male was arrested on a bench warrant.

Theft from vehicle: Officers took a report of a theft from a vehicle; the investigation is on-going.

Fraud: An officer received a report of a fraudulent use of a credit card, after an investigation an arrest was made.

Agency assistance: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino for an agency assist. Upon arrival Officer met with MFR and was advised subject was deceased.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Responded to a two vehicle collision on a public roadway with no injuries.

Theft: Officer responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. gas station for a report of juvenile who stole candy and alcohol. Officer took the report and is waiting on the store manager to check surveillance to make sure a crime was committed.

Trespassing: An adult male was arrested for trespassing and transported to the detention center and booked. The suspect is also being investigated with further charges pending.

Mental person: An adult male was cited for disturbance and resisting arrest. He was committed to the hospital on a mental hold.

Hit & Run: Officer completed a report of a hit and run accident.

July 30:

Wanted person: An officer contacted a male adult with an active warrant, the male was taken into custody.

Theft: Officers responded to a motel reference a theft. An adult male was arrested for petit larceny.

Fraud: Report of attempted fraud taken.

Wanted person: An officer contacted a male adult with an active warrant, the male was taken into custody.

Controlled substance problem: Officer cited one adult male for smoking marijuana in a public park.

Traffic stop: Officer made traffic stop on a vehicle for suspended registration. One adult male was arrested for driving on cancelled driver’s license, suspended registration, and no proof of insurance.

July 31:

Fraud: Officer completed a report of a fraud situation.

Aug. 1:

Indecent exposure: Officer completed an initial report of an indecent exposure incident.

Welfare check: Officers responded to a local residence to perform a welfare check on a 73 year old female. The female was found deceased inside the residence.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officer completed a traffic accident with no injuries report.

Controlled substance problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on the Interstate for a violation. The male driver, who was found in possession of over 1 pound of marijuana, was arrested for possession marijuana with intent to sell.

Traffic stop: Officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. One female was arrested for open container of alcohol and resisting arrest.

DUI: An officer conducted a traffic stop for a violation. The male driver was arrested for driving under the influence 3rd and subsequent offense.

Suspicious person: Officers spoke with a female who believes her male roommate is suicidal. Officers were unsuccessful in locating the male in Mesquite.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd.  casino reference a trespass violator. One female was cited and released for the violation.

Property damage, non-vandalism: Officers responded to a report of graffiti on private property.

Theft: Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business in reference to a petit larceny which had previously occurred. Officers were able to determine a suspect; one male was taken into custody.

Welfare check: Officers responded to a Poppy Ln. residence reference a welfare check. CPS responded to the residence to conduct an investigation.

Search warrant: Detectives executed a search warrant on a Mesa Blvd. residence.

Suicidal person: Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blv.d casino reference a suicidal person. One adult male as checked into the hospital for mental evaluation.

Minor gambling: An officer was dispatched to a local casino, in reference to a minor gambling. An adult/minor was cited and released for minor gambling.

Suspicious vehicle: Officers responded to a casino reference a suspicious vehicle incident. An adult female was contacted and it was determined she was in possession of a vehicle without the owner’s consent. The female was arrested.

Aug. 3:

Domestic violence:  Officers responded to a residence reference a domestic battery. One adult female was arrested for domestic battery.

Trespassing: Officer responded to a local casino for a report of a trespass violator. One subject was issued a citation for violation of trespass and released with a court date.

TPO: Officer attempted to locate a male adult for a paper service.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officer completed an accident with no injuries report.

Agency assistance: Officer responded to a Oakmont Ridge residence for a report of deceased person. Officer maintained the scene until Clark County Coroner responded to conduct a death investigation.

Citizen dispute: Officers responded to a local golf course reference a report of a stolen vehicle.

Suspicious person:  Officers responded to a local casino reference a report of a possible sexual assault. Upon investigation officers were able to determine that a sexual assault had not occurred.

False information: Officers made contact with a female who had previously provided false information to an officer regarding a citation. The female was taken into custody for obstructing a public officer.

Theft: Officers responded to a casino reference a theft. One adult female was booked into the Mesquite Detention Center for Petit Larceny and Trespassing.

Aug. 4:

Domestic violence: Officers responded to a residence, one female adult was arrested for domestic battery.
