Police Blotter Aug. 5-11, 2018

Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 180 calls this week:

Aug. 5:

Theft: Officers took a report of a theft from a business.

Threatening: An officer received a report of threatening text messages.

Intoxicated person: Officers responded to a casino on a report of an intoxicated person. One adult male was arrested for trespass and breach of peace.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a business reference a trespass violator. An adult male was located who had multiple warrants out of Mesquite Municipal Court. The male was arrested for trespassing and the warrants.

Domestic Trouble: Responded to a report of Domestic Battery which occurred last evening. Officer attempted to contact the suspect at his residence without success.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a local business, one adult female was arrested for trespassing.

Aug. 6:

Disorderly conduct: Officers responded to a local hotel casino for a male who was causing a disturbance. The male subject was arrested for Breach of Peace.

Trespassing: An adult female was placed under arrest for trespassing and breach of peace. She was transported to Mesquite Detention Center and booked on the aforementioned charge.

Disorderly conduct: Officers responded to a local address regarding a female screaming and yelling. Upon arrival, Officers met with a female outside who was taken into custody for breach of peace after being warned multiple times.

Aug.7:

DUI: An intoxicated person was asked to leave a local casino for causing a disturbance. The male left in a vehicle and the hotel security notified the police who moments later conducted a traffic stop. The driver was found to be DUI and other traffic violations.

Theft: Theft of property report taken from a local resident. A Vase was taken by unknown person without permission.

Lost property: Officer responded to the Police lobby for a female who reported leaving her money at an ATM machine. She needed to make a police report for the bank to follow up on the incident.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a business for a trespass violation, one adult male was cited and released.

Dead body: Officers responded to a residence to assist Mesquite Fire and Rescue. An adult female was deceased.

Domestic trouble: Officers responded to a casino reference a domestic battery. It was reported an adult female was injured; the suspect left the casino prior to the officer’s arrival.

Aug. 8:

Fraud: Officer completed a fraud report.

Recovered stolen vehicle: Officer completed a recovered vehicle report.

Sex offender verification: An officer was requested to verify a suspicious male; the male was found to be an unregistered offender and taken into custody.

Battery on person: Officer responded to a local gas station for a report of a possible fight in progress. One female subject was issued a citation for battery and released with a court date.

Aug. 9:

Mental person: Officers responded to a call of a male breaking thing in the parking lot with a large hammer. Officers arrived and found the male in front of his apartment with a hammer in each hand. The male did not reply to Officers questions. The male refused to set the two hammers down. The male was later transported to Mesa View Hospital for evaluation.

Mental person: Officers responded to a welfare check on an adult female. Female refused medical assistance and stated she was safe.

Domestic trouble: Officers responded to a local business on a report of a domestic violence in progress. One female was taken into custody for domestic battery.

Theft from vehicle:  An officer responded to a local residence for a theft from a vehicle.

Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: Officers responded to a two vehicle accident with injuries. Officers observed both drivers to have minor injuries. One female was cited and released on scene.

Abuse/Neglect: Officer completed a report an abuse report.

Fraud: Officer responded to the lobby of the police department for a report of fraud. Officer took a report from a citizen that stated he was scammed out of money and now is worried someone could come after him.

Trespassing: Officer responded to a local casino for a report of a trespass violation. One subject was issued a citation for trespass violation and release with a court date.

Person on foot: Officers made contact with a male at a local business with a local warrant. The male was taken into custody for the warrant.

Aug. 10:

Citizen assist: Officer completed a courtesy report for a local citizen.

Fraud: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department reference a report of a fraud.

Fraud: Officer completed a fraud report.

Suspicious person: Officer completed a lost property report.

Hit & Run: An officer was dispatched to a local casino, in reference to a hit and run traffic accident.

Aug. 11:

Agency assistance: I conducted a civil stand by as Child protection services spoke with a juvenile and the juvenile’s mother.

Lost property: Officers responded to a casino for a report of a stolen or lost phone. The phone was not located.

DUI: Officers conducted a traffic stop for a speeding violation. One male was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Domestic violence: Officers responded to a hotel for a fight between three people. Two male adults were arrested for domestic battery.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a single vehicle accident. No injuries were sustained and a report was completed.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to a roadway reference a suspicious incident. They located a vehicle with major damage which collided into a fence and was unoccupied. Officers located the owner of the vehicle nearby, and he was issued a citation for leaving the scene of an accident and obstructing.
