Police Blotter July 8-14, 2018

Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 183 calls this week:

July 8:

Traffic Stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for traffic violations. The driver and a passenger were later arrested on drug charges and for warrants.

Weapon offense: Officers responded to a report of a fight were individuals were pointing firearms during the altercation. An investigation is ongoing.

Disorderly conduct: Officer responded to a report of breach of peace. One adult male was cited and

Fire: Officers responded to a fire at Pulsipher Ln. complex. Officers evacuated residents and assisted MFR with security of the scene.

Agency assistance: Officers located a reported stolen firearm in the possession of the original owner. No crime was committed.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officer responded to a motor vehicle accident involving three vehicles. No injuries were reported and a report was completed.

July 9

Threatening: Officers responded to a casino reference an intoxicated adult female.

Property damage, non-vandalism: Officer responded to a report of property damage. The RP stated their vehicle was damaged while they were shopping at a local convenience store. The RP needed to make a report for insurance purposes.

July 10:

Trespassing: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. business, one male adult was cited and released for trespassing.

Sexual assault: Detectives followed up on a report of a multi-jurisdictional child sexual abuse report which was unsubstantiated within Mesquite City limits.  The investigation will continue within other jurisdictions.

Sex offense: Officers responded to a Thistle St. residence in reference to a report of a sexual assault, one male adult was arrested for Gross Lewdness.

Hit & Run: Officer responded to a hit and run. The suspect vehicle was located and one adult male was issued citations related to the accident.

July 11:

Suspicious person: Officers were dispatched to a casino reference a male who was trespassed previously in the day had returned. Security signed a complaint for trespassing and the individual left without any further incident.

Person on foot: Detectives issued citations on two (2) males who were consuming marijuana in a public parking lot within the City of Mesquite.

Fraud: Detective Medina received information about fraudulent and unauthorized online credit card use.  Detective Medina will follow up with Dodie at the City of Mesquite for financial statements on the credit card.  Dodie will be out of her office on vacation until 07/23/2018.

Property damage, non-vandalism: An officer was dispatched to a Sun Valley Dr. address, in reference to a property damage call.

Controlled substance problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a violation and observed signs of illegal activity. The female passenger was arrested for possession of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.

Noise disturbance: An officer was dispatched to a Vineyard Ln., in reference to a noise complaint. An adult male, intoxicated subject, who was nude in public, was taken into custody for breach of peace.

Theft from vehicle: Mesquite Officer responded to a local residence reference theft from a motor vehicle.

Wanted person: Officers made contact with a male at an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino who had an active warrant. One male was taken into custody for the warrant.

Controlled substance problem: Officers were dispatched to a W. Mesquite Blvd. business, in reference to a trespass.  An adult male subject was taken into custody for a local misdemeanor warrant and possession of drug paraphernalia.

July 13:

Business or license problem: Mesquite Officers responded to a Valerie Ln. neighborhood in reference to a business license problem.

Information report: Officers responded to a call to assist a woman with locating a family member. Officers are still gathering information ad attempting to locate the individual.

Traffic Stop: Officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. One female was cited and released for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Trespassing: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd.  casino reference a male trespassing. One adult male was arrested for trespassing and public urination.

Domestic Trouble: Officers were dispatched to a Hughes Ave. residence, in reference to an intoxicated subject.  An adult female subject was arrested for domestic battery and destroying the property of another (gross misdemeanor).

July 14:

Suspicious person: An officer was dispatched to a N. Sandhill Blvd. business, in reference to a theft.

Traffic stop: Officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. One female was taken into custody for trafficking a level one controlled substance methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance mushrooms, and drug paraphernalia.

Mental person: Officers responded to a Chaparral Dr. residence reference a domestic disturbance. One adult male was transported to a hospital for a mental evaluation.

Wanted person: Officers were dispatched to an E. Mesquite Blvd. residence, in reference to an unknown problem.  An adult male subject was taken into custody for a felony warrant.

Threatening: An officer responded to a Siena Ln. residence reference a threatening incident. An information report was completed.
