Police Blotter May 26-June 2, 2018

Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. There were 165 calls this week:

May 27:

Property damage, non-vandalism: Received report of property damage to a residence. Window on a garage door was broken with a rock by unknown person(s).

Animal complaint: Officer responded to a park on a report of a dog bite.

May 28:

Disorderly conduct: Officers responded to a residence in reference to disorderly conduct. One adult male was cited for Breach of peace, Property damage and was released with a court date.

Intoxicated person: Officers responded to a residential area in reference to a suspicious male walking in the road and yelling. One male adult was arrested for intoxicated pedestrian in the roadway.

May 29:

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident. No injuries were reported and a report was taken.

Theft: Spoke with employee who stated wallet was taken from place of employment. Video obtained and incident created.

Fraud: Officer responded on a report of a fraud. An information report was completed.

Theft from vehicle: Responded to a theft of a firearm from a motor vehicle. R/P stated it was taken from the vehicle sometime in the past few months. Report was taken.

May 30:

Suspicious person: Officers were dispatched to a local grocery store reference a suspicious incident. The subjects involved were located and questioned regarding their activity. An information report was completed.

Suspicious person: Officers responded to a local vacant residence on a report of a possible squatter living in the residence.

Suspicious person: A mother called to report she found her daughter.

Agency assistance: Officers responded to a hotel lobby reference an intoxicated male in their lobby who was being assisted by Mesquite Fire and Rescue.  Upon arrival, the officers assisted Mesquite Fire and Rescue while they transported the male to the hospital for a medical evaluation.

Person on foot: Officers located an intoxicated person urinating on the sidewalk. One adult male was cited and released for public urination.

May 31:

Burglary: Officer received call about fraudulent charges to his account. The reporting person is out of town and left is credit card at his house. Officers checked the reporting person’s residence and observed the reporting person’s house was broken into. Detectives arrived and processed the scene. The investigation is ongoing.

Traffic stop:  Mesquite Officer conducted a traffic stop reference several equipment violations and traffic violations. The driver was arrested for possession of narcotics and paraphernalia.

Domestic Violence w/ weapon: Officers responded to a local residence on a report of domestic violence. One male was taken into custody for domestic battery with a deadly weapon, and possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine.

Fraud: Mesquite Police Officer responded to a local business in reference to fraudulent charges on their credit card.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino reference a trespasser. One adult male was cited and released for trespassing.

June 1:

Trespassing: An officer responded to a casino reference a trespass violator and issued the trespass violator a citation on behalf of the casino.

Controlled substance problem: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino reference a follow-up case. One adult male was cited and released for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Wanted person: Detectives arrested a male who had two (2) felony warrants out of Las Vegas

Justice Court.

Theft from vehicle: Officer completed a report of a theft from a motor vehicle.

Controlled substance problem: Officers responded to a local business on a report of a male and two females arguing in the business parking lot. One male was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and obstructing a public officer.

June 2:

Threatening: Officer completed a report reference a threatening call.

Theft: Officers responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino reference theft by a male guest. One male was cited and trespassed from the property.

Wanted person: A male was located and arrested for and active arrest warrant. The male was transported to the detention center and booked on the warrant.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officers responded to a traffic accident involving two vehicles. There were no injuries reported.

Theft: Officers responded to a supermarket reference shoplifting and trespassing.  Upon arrival, the officers located the subject and placed her under arrest.
