This week in history May 24-30

May 25,1923: Graduating exercises of the Clark County Normal were held today. the program was well attended and decorations beautiful. The graduates are Vera Wittwer, Amy Earl, Iris Waite, Grace Cooper, Vincent Leavitt and Ralph Huntsman.

May 26, 1917, Las Vegas Age: Arrested Dentist. James Westerfield, a dentist, was arrested in Bunkerville by Sheriff Gay upon information that the man was wanted in South Dakota on a felony charge. Sheriff Jay crane arrived Friday and started with the prisoner for Hot Springs, S.D.

May 27, 1922, Mesquite: Fred Rustin has gone to Bunkerville to resume work on the school building. He stopped on account of delay of a car (Rail) of lumber. The house is now up to the square.

May 29, 1917: Samuel Reber, Jr., of Mesquite NV, was in Washington County UT on business.

May 29, 1917: Mrs. Nancy Bowler and two of her children of Mesquite NV., are visiting friends and relatives in Gunlock UT.

May 29, 1923: John Barnum has bought the Mochler farm. The Mochler family has moved to California on account of Mrs. Moocher’s health. The people will certainly miss them.

May 29, 1923: The farmers are busy running the binders early and late on account of the grain ripening so fast.
