Lady Dog 4X100 relay team breaks school record at State

The Virgin Valley High School Lady Bulldog Track and Field team small contingent of athletes performed well at this past week ends NIAA 3A Nevada State Championship held at Carson City High School. The Bulldogs placed eighth out of 19 schools competing. The highlight for the Dawgs, were their 4X100 relay team who placed second to Sunrise Mountain. The Bulldogs broke the school record for the event with a time of 50:04 just .07 behind the Miners. Running for the Dawgs were Emily Teerlink, Nikita Eskelsen, Rainee Brito and Macee Bundy. Eskelsen added a second place finish in the long jump and Julia Ramirez had a good meet with a third in the 400 meters, fifth in the 300 meter hurdles and ran a leg on the fourth place finishing Bulldog 4X400 relay team. Also running in the relay were Alyssa Ponce, Brito and Bundy. The time of 4:11:43 just fell short of the school record for the event. Bundy added a fifth place to her day’s work with a fifth in the 400 meter run. On the men’s side Braden Bingham finished seventh in the high jump and Ty Bryant took fifth in the pole vault.
