Sam

WCFA’s featured pets are Sam and Wiggles:

We pulled Sam from the Las Vegas shelter where he was on the rescue list for being scared. Although we don’t know his history, we think he spent most of his time with minimum socialization. Sam has been in foster care with us for three weeks and he has come such a long way in that period of time. He has a sweet personality. He is house trained with a doggy door, enjoys walks and does very well on leash. He will gladly sleep on your bed and spend time with you on the sofa. Sam likes to play with toys. While he is still shy (until he gets to know you), he takes comfort being close to people. Sam would appreciate a quiet home with someone home most of the day. He is currently in a home with other dogs and he has been fine with them. He would do well with another playful dog about his size. Sam is neutered, current on his vaccines and micro-chipped.

Wiggles

Wiggles is a gem! She is a sweet, happy and loving little dog who would love to spend time as a lap dog and also to sleep with you on your bed if you wish. Wiggles enjoys daily walks and is good on leash. She is house trained and sleeps through the night. She would make a loving companion as the only dog or with another dog around her size as she shared a home with two other small dogs. Wiggles came to us when her owner was no longer physically able to care for her. Wiggles is 3 years of age and weighs approximately 9.4 lbs. She is spayed and current on her vaccines.

Other Available Pets:

CATS:

Taylor is about 2 years old. She is a sweet girl and has come a long way in in her foster home.  She likes people and enjoys exploring.  Taylor is altered, current on vaccines and micro chipped.   Taylor is a beautiful white/with black markings feline. Taylor is opening up and becoming more outgoing with everyone she meets. She would be very content in a home where she can wander around the house, visit with her humans and relax.

Emmy is a very sweet, outgoing young girl.  She is about 1- 1 ½ years old.  Emmy has been spayed and brought current on vaccines.  When you walk in the room, Emmy comes to greet you with a welcome meow.  She loves attention.  She enjoys being around humans.

New to WCFA is Punkin.  Punkin is 10 years young.  She is a beautiful Seal Point Siamese.  Punkin will need to be on a special diet for kidney issues.  Otherwise she is very healthy and is doing well in her foster home.  A quiet home would be her preference.

Creamy is a 4 year old orange tabby.  He is a sweet boy that needs to be in a home where he is the only cat.   Creamy has been with other cats but is selective on his choice of friends.  He would do best on a kidney healthy diet.  Creamy loves a cat tree where he can watch the outside world.

DOGS:

Meet Taffy, a sweet Chihuahua mix puppy, just 5 months weighing 5.3 lbs. Taffy came to us with two other dogs when their owner could no longer care for them. Taffy is learning that walking and exploring on leash is a good thing and is working on her house training. She is very sweet, a bit shy, loves to be held and would enjoy sleeping on your bed. Taffy is spayed and is current on her vaccines.

SPAY/NEUTER

WCFA offers a wonderful low-cost/free opportunity to spay/neuter your pets to prevent accidental litters and keep your pet happy and healthy. We will always alter feral cats to be released back in their environment.  Our target areas are Mesquite, Bunkerville and the Arizona Strip.  Spay/Neuter Assistance Applications are available at Mesquite Veterinary Clinic located at 371 Riverside Road and Virgin Valley Veterinary Hospital at 660 Hardy Way.  You may also call WCFA at 702-346-3326 to leave a message or visit wecareforanimals.org to contact us by email.  Half of all litters born in the U.S. are accidents that overburden shelters and rescues.

WCFA/ANIMAL SHELTER:

WCFA is often confused with the Mesquite Animal Shelter.  The Shelter is operated by the City of Mesquite.  WCFA is an independent cat and dog rescue and is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization.   WCFA can be reached at 702-346-3326 (voicemail) regarding adoption, fostering, information regarding re-homing a pet and spay/neuter assistance for qualified pet owners.   Monetary donations are always needed and can be made online at wecareforanimals.org or by mail at WCFA, P.O. Box 3028, Mesquite, NV 89024.  Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.  WCFA’s email address is wcfanv@gmail.com.  Visit our website at wecareforanimals.org.   Follow us on Facebook at facebook.com/wecareforanimalsmesquitenv.
