Lady Dog softball roundup for week ending April 22

The Lady Bulldogs continued to struggle in 3A Sunrise League play dropping two games during the week. The Dawgs were crushed by Boulder City 18-1 on Tuesday April 17 and lost to Chaparral 3-1 on Thursday April 19.

Tuesday’s matchup with the Eagles was pretty much over after one inning as the Eagles scored 10 runs in the first. The Eagles added 8 runs in the second inning and the game was called after two and a half innings of play. Savannah Price had the only RBI for the Dogs with a single in the third.

The Bulldogs game with the Cowboys was much more competitive as they lost 3-1 at home. The Dawgs gave up all three runs in the top of the third inning. Kari Wakefield led the Lady Dogs with two hits including a RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning. The Bulldogs outhit the Cowboys 7-6 put could not take advantage of their on base runners. The Bulldogs hope to get revenge today Monday April 23 when they host Boulder City at 3:30pm. The Bulldogs travel to Del Sol on Wednesday April 25 and TECH on April 29 before finishing their home season against archrival Moapa Valley on Monday April 30. The Bulldogs season records stand at 1-4 in league play and 10-11 overall.
