Virgin Valley High School students and the Mesquite Community Education Foundation present “Cherry Blossom Time” Spring Fling on Wednesday, March 21, at the VVHS Student Center, 5-7 p.m.

The event showcases student musical and culinary expertise as they pitch in to raise funds  for seniors in the 2018 graduating class.  The VVHS culinary classes will prepare the buffet dinner, with music students performing choral and instrumental numbers.  A dedicated raffle is offered.  Local businesses and individuals have generously donated raffle prizes.

Tickets for the March 21 dinner concert are $15 per person, or two for $25. Tickets are available at the Chamber of Commerce office, Danielle’s Chocolates, the Mesquite Senior Center and Rec Center, and VVHS front desk. On Saturday, March 17, students and MCEF members will sell tickets outside Ace Hardware and Walmart 10 a.m.-noon. Tickets may be purchased with cash or check.

Mesquite Community Education Foundation sponsors this annual event to assist seniors who

most need financial help to go on to college or trade school. MCEF strives to help acquaint the community with our VVHS  students, and display their accomplishments to all the community through these events. This nonprofit 501c3 organization raised $8000 that was awarded to eight 2017 graduates, and looks to surpass that number this year.

MCEF accepts direct donations to its scholarship fund.  Those who wish to donate any amount to the fund may do so by making checks payable to MCEF, mailed c/o Dan Wright, at Bank Of Nevada, 11 W. Pioneer Blvd, Mesquite, NV, 89027.
