Community Calendar March 15-21, 2018

Join the activities the LDS Stake Center has in store for you on Family Discovery Day, March 17, from 9 a.m. to noon.  You can enjoy the pioneer family photo booth, grandma’s recipe sampler, pioneer crafts and games and wagon rides.

Learn about your genealogy with roots tech screenings, skill level appropriate family search education, new technology and family history classes. You can even check out the museum’s heirloom exhibits. There is so much to discover at this family fun event. For more information contact the LDS Stake Center, 702-346-5441.

Middle-aged, married and overworked, Barney Cashman wants to join the sexual revolution before it’s too late and arranges three seductions. He first tries to seduce Elaine Navazio, who proves to be a foul-mouthed bundle of neuroses. Bobbi Michele is next, a 20-ish actress who’s too kooky by half and finally comes September and Jeanette Fisher, a gloomy, depressed housewife who happens to be married to Barney’s best friend.

Cast: Paul Benedict as Barney Cashman, LeeAnn Elder-Kalstein as Elaine Navazio, Dianna McKinney as Bobbi Michele and Susan Shultz as Jeanette Fisher. The actors will bring the stage to life with Neil Simon’s comedy, Last of the Red Hot Lovers, directed by Denis Feehan, this weekend at the Mesquite Community Theatre (MCT). Show times are Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $16 for adults and $5 for students (student tickets available at the MCT box office only), available in advance at the Mesquite Chamber of Commerce, Ready Golf Cars and the Mesquite fine Arts Center or at the MCT box office one hour before show time. For more information contact the MCT at 702-345-4499.

Don’t forget all the wonderfully informative classes the Mesquite-Clark County Library offers. Learn anything from Computers to Gardening; join activities such as Book Bingo or Adult Coloring Clubs, even get your GED or hooked up with Workforce Connections. Get involved, get training or get a job, everything good is happening at the Mesquite-Clark County Library.

Remember to send all your events to terin.bbm@gmail.com so we can let everyone know what’s happening around town. Please remember to put “Community Calendar” in the subject line. Have a fun and active week.
