Police Blotter Jan. 28-Feb. 3, 2018

Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 180 total incidents in the blotter:

Jan. 28:

Grand Larceny: Officer made contact with an adult male wanted for a previous petit larceny. The male was found in the act of grand larceny and was arrested.

Theft: An officer completed an information report of lost/stolen property.

Burglary: An officer responded to a Mesa Blvd. residence reference a past burglary.  An information report was completed.

Suspicious person: An officer responded to a possible battery.

Civil matter: An officer responded to a civil matter involving the eviction process.

Theft: Officer took a report of theft.

Fraud: Officer took a report of identity theft.

Traffic stop: Officer conducts a traffic stop  for a speeding violation and discovers the driver already had an active warrant for another traffic offence from Las Vegas Justice Court. The male was taken into custody to post bail for the speeding ticket.

Traffic stop: Officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic violation. The driver was arrested for a warrant.

Jan. 29:

Trespassing: An adult male was arrested for trespassing and booked into Mesquite Detention Center.

Assault IP W/ Weapon: Officers responded to a Mesa Blvd. casino for a male who was disorderly and violent. The male was later arrested for assault with a deadly weapon and property damage.

Burglary: An officer responded to a report of a past burglary. An information report was completed and the investigation in ongoing.

Controlled substance problem: Mesquite Officer responded to a Valley View Dr. school in reference to possible narcotics. The student was issued a citation for drug related charges.

Keep the peace: An officer responded to a keep the peace.

Controlled substance problem: Detectives collected medications for the Drug Take Back Program.

Noise Disturbance: Officers responded to a noise complaint at an apartment complex. Officers did not hear any noise coming from the apartment. Officers spoke with both parties and the situation is being resolved by the apartment management.

Jan. 30:

Keep the peace: Officers conducted a civil standby for keep the peace reference a civil matter.

The situation stayed civil and police left without incident.

Weapon offense: Officers responded to a residence reference a weapons offense.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officer responded to a two vehicle accident on Mesquite Boulevard.

Missing person: A female wanted to report her sister as missing. Officers entered the missing female into NCIC as a missing person.

Theft: Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business on a report of theft. Officers contacted the female suspect who was arrested for theft and resisting arrest.

Theft: Officer responded to a report of a theft at a Willis Carrier Canyon business. The incident was caught on camera and the suspect was later on apprehended.

Jan. 31:

Wanted person: Detectives located and arrested an adult male with an outstanding Mesquite Municipal Court warrant.

Phone Harassment: An officer took a report for harassment. No charges were filed.

Trespassing: Officer responded to a casino reference a trespass violator.  Officers located suspected methamphetamine on the violator and he was arrested for trespassing and possession of methamphetamine.

Traffic stop: An officer conducted a traffic stop and subsequently arrested the driver of the vehicle for possession of methamphetamine and other traffic violations.

Feb. 1:

Wanted person: Officers located a wanted person at a W. Mesquite Blvd. hotel. One male was taken into custody for the active warrant.

Burglary: Officer responded to a local residence for a report of a burglary. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.

Wanted person: Officers observed a male with an active warrant working for a local landscaping company. One male was taken into custody.

Traffic Accident w/ Injuries: Officers responded to a traffic accident involving three vehicles and reported injuries. Information was gathered and an accident report was completed.

DUI: Officer responded to a report of a minor traffic accident. One driver was taken into custody for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Battery on person: Officers responded to an intersection for a report a traffic accident which led to a fight among the occupants. One male occupant was cited for battery.

Reckless driver: Officer responded to a gas station parking lot reference a reckless driver.  Upon arrival, officer located the impaired driver and subsequently arrested him for DUI.

Person on foot: An officer conducted an investigative stop on a male jaywalking. The male had active warrants and was arrested for jaywalking and breach of peace.

Feb. 2:

Controlled substance problem: An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for a violation. The male driver was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia.

Theft: Officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino reference a petit larceny.  The individuals were located and issued a citation with a future court date.

Litter/Pollution: Officers observed a male throw garbage out his vehicle window. The male was given a verbal warning for littering.

Found property: Officer met with an adult turning in found money. Money was booked into evidence vault.

Threatening: Officer responded to a Cherokee St. residence for a report of possible threats made to the resident. Officer took the report and investigation is ongoing.

Agency assistance: Officers responded to the Mesquite Police Department to take a fraud report.

*EMS* Stab/Gunshot/Penetration: Officers responded to a report of a gunshot on Kitty Hawk Dr. One adult male was transported to the hospital for a mental health evaluation and for medical attention.

Trespassing: Officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. casino reference a trespass violator.  Upon arrival, the violator was issued a citation signed by casino security, for trespassing.

Feb. 3:

Traffic stop: Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with obstructed view. Upon contact the driver was placed under arrest for several traffic violations.

Burglary: Officers responded to a burglary call at a Carrara Ct. residence. Detectives were contacted and processed the scene; the investigation in ongoing.

Traffic accident w/o injury: Officers responded to a motor vehicle accident involving one vehicle. No injuries were reported and a report was completed.

Graffiti: Took a report of graffiti.

Battery on person: Officer responded to a Sun Valley Dr. residence for a report of a Battery. A male individual was issued a citation for Battery and released with a court date.
