Many calls that the Police Department receives are not always included in the blotter, as they are under investigation or a synopsis is not received. To show the amount of work our PD does do, we are including a weekly roster of stats. This week, there were 154 total incidents in the blotter:

Dec. 31, 2017:

Identification Check: An officer responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino reference identification verification.  Upon arrival, the subject was determined to be a minor and cited with a promise to appear in court at a future date.

Property Damage, Non Vandalism: An officer responded to an Ivy Lee Crest residence reference property damage. Information report was completed.

Hit & Run: Took a report of a hit and run in the parking lot of a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino. Incident created awaiting surveillance footage to determine suspect information.

Trespassing: Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business reference suspicious person. An adult female was trespassed from the business.

Panhandling: An officer responded to a complaint of a suspicious male.

Traffic Stop: An officer stopped a vehicle for traffic infractions and cited the driver and impounded the vehicle due to having revoked registration and insurance.

Trespassing: An officer responded to an E. Pioneer Blvd. local casino for a report of a trespass violator. One male subject was arrested for trespassing.

DUI: Officer made traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. One adult male was arrested for DUI, open container of alcohol, and traffic violations.

Jan. 1, 2018:

Domestic trouble: Officers arrived to the Mesquite Police station for a report of a domestic battery. Male reported his wife scratched his face during a heated argument; investigation continues.

Wanted person: An adult female was arrested for an active warrant out of Mesquite Municipal

Court. The female was booked into the Mesquite Detention Center.

Intoxicated person: An adult male was arrested for trespass from a W. Mesquite Blvd. casino. He was transported to the detention center and booked on the aforementioned charge.

Jan. 2:

Trespassing: An adult male was arrested for trespass from a W. Mesquite Blvd.  casino. He was transported to the dentition center and booked on the aforementioned charge.

Robbery: Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery which happened earlier in the morning on S. Arrowhead Ln. Officers obtained a statement from the victim and are currently attempting to locate the suspect(s).

Civil matter: An officer responded to a Ruby Cir. residence reference a civil situation. A report was completed.

Found property: Officer took a report of a hydraulic jack that was found in the roadway. Jack was placed into the evidence vault until claimed by the rightful owner.

Property damage, non- vandalism: Officer took a report of Graffiti at a Moss Dr.  apartment complex.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officer dispatched to private property accident in a W. Mesquite Blvd. parking lot. On my (Woodmancy) arrival, driver associated w/v2 was on scene. Driver and passenger from v1 had departed but male left driver’s license photo w/no registration or insurance information. D2 stated her vehicle was parked unoccupied on the east side of the parking lot for the east casino entry. When she returned to her vehicle she was approached by Vanleuvan who stated his vehicle had struck v2 while backing out of a parking space across the travel lane. He further stated that Buckley had been driving. I requested an officer to assist since one driver was not present. Smith and

Perry responded and subsequently located Vanleuvan and Buckley in the casino. Damage to v2 was minor dents and paint transfer on left rear bumper. Damage to v1 was scratches, paint transfer and minor dents to rear right bumper and fender panel. Driver and insurance information were exchanged and Vanleavan was cautioned by Smith regarding allowing an unlicensed driver to drive. Officer has nothing further to report.

Traffic accident W/O injury: A report was taken for a two vehicle non-injury accident.

Traffic stop: An officer observed a vehicle driving on a public road with suspended Nevada license plates. Upon conducting a traffic stop, the driver had an active warrant for the same or similar traffic infractions. The male was taken into custody.

Jan. 3:

Theft from vehicle: Officers responded to a residence on a report of a stolen license plate. The investigation is ongoing.

Property damage, non-vandalism: An officer responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. parking lot for a report of damage to a vehicle.

Jan. 4:

Search warrant: Detectives executed a search warrant on a residence and recovered large qualities of marijuana and edible marijuana candies. The suspect was arrested on felony drug related charges.

Wanted person: Officers located a female with an active warrant in a local business. One female was taken into custody for the warrant.

Burglary: Officers responded to a theft from a local residence. The investigation is ongoing.

Runaway juvenile: Officers responded to a Rivers Bend Dr. residence for a report of a juvenile problem. One female minor was entered as a runaway.

Controlled substance problem: Officers conducted a traffic stop for a traffic offense. Following a K9 sniff officers located methamphetamine and burglary tools in the vehicle. The driver was arrested.

Hit & Run: An officer responded to a hit and run traffic collision. The investigation is ongoing.

Jan. 5:

Citizen assist: Officer responded to a local residence for a report of possible fraud. Citizen advised that a loan was opened in her name that she did not open. Citizen was given the incident number to dispute the loan with the bank.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers responded to an accident on a public roadway. No injuries were reported and insurance information was exchanged.

Lost property: A female citizen lost her wallet walking from her car to her residence.

Verbal disturbance: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd.  business on a report of a male causing a disturbance inside.

Panhandling: Officers saw a male panhandling at a Mesquite intersection. The male, who had been previously warned, was cited.

Theft: Officers responded to a W. Pioneer Blvd. business for a theft. The investigation is ongoing.

Minor possessing/consuming: Officers conducted a traffic stop. Three adult females were cited for an open container of alcohol.

Traffic accident W/O injury: Officers were dispatched to a local condominium complex, in reference to a traffic accident.

Jan. 6:

Dead Body: Officers responded to a Duchess Ln. residence for an agency assist. Upon arrival, officer met with MFR and was advised subject was deceased.

Grand larceny: Officers responded to a W. Mesquite Blvd. business for an employee who observed someone suspicious. Upon investigation it was discovered the person was stealing merchandise from the store.

Controlled substance problem: Officers observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop. One female was cited with drug paraphernalia and one female was cited for an open container.
