Arizona Strip residents have been rallying for a new post office parking lot for a while but may be getting a false sense of security. Don’t be fooled by what might look like the start of construction on the project.

An unidentified local resident had some asphalt paving left over from another project and donated it to help ease the parking dilemma. He laid down some extra material to build up the ridge between the dirt and pavement to give a little extra space for parking but it’s just a temporary solution to a growing problem.

With the growth to the area, the present structure doesn’t accommodate the number of packages they sometimes receive and the parking lot is far too small for the sometimes-excessive amount of traffic that comes and goes.

The Virgin Rivers Communities has been working on an improvement project.

In the May 18 edition of the MLN, a letter from the Committee was published, urging community members to send a copy to the Arizona Postal District Manager stating that you would like to see updates and improvements made to the present structure. Keep those letters coming, don’t be fooled by the good deeds of your neighbor, it’s just a temporary fix.
