Recovered Vehicle

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Tully Wade Herd, 46, of Littlefield, early afternoon on June 20 for unlawful use of means of transportation, a felony. Deputies were informed of an anonymous tip that Tully Herd was driving around in a stolen blue Saturn vehicle. Further information was obtained about Herd using the plates off his other vehicle.  At about 1:30 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 70 block of Shadow Mountain Road. Upon arrival, deputies observed a blue Saturn on the property. A computer check on the license plate on the blue Saturn returned to a green 1999 Saturn owned by Herd. Further investigations determined the VIN on the blue Saturn returned the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Las Vegas, Nevada. Deputies contacted Herd at the residence. Herd said that he got the blue Saturn from a guy. Deputies questioned Herd about his old vehicle plates being on his newly acquired vehicle. Herd further said that he didn’t think about it when he switched the plates. Deputies advised Herd the blue 2000 Saturn is reported stolen. Herd was taken into custody without incident. He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Jail. The vehicle was towed from the scene.

 

 

Aggravated Assault

Mohave County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Tom Edward Sorrels, 62, of Littlefield, late morning on June 21 for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/instrument, a felony. Approximately 10:00 a.m., deputies responded to an assault report outside of a business located in the 400 block of N Highway 91. Investigations determined that Sorrels initiated a fight with a 57-year-old male victim. During the physical altercation, Sorrels pulled a knife from his waistband and pressed the tip of the knife at the victims’ stomach. No one was injured. Sorrels was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported and booked into the Mesquite Jail. The knife and a pistol that fell out of Sorrels waistband were taken as evidence.
