On June 3, at approximately 10p.m. a Mesquite Police Officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle stopped in the travel lane on Falcon Ridge Parkway.

The officer stopped behind the vehicle and four occupants exited the vehicle and began walking away from it. The Mesquite Police Officer was able to make contact with two of the four occupants and observed evidence of criminal activity. Officers discovered the vehicle had recently been stolen out of Utah and had fictitious license plates.

Approximately one hour later, the other two occupants were located by officers and all four suspects were safely taken into custody. Along with the stolen vehicle being recovered, officers were able to locate a .380 semi-automatic handgun which the suspects were carrying, and had thrown into sagebrush when the officers made contact with them. Upon further investigation, the officers were able to locate a second stolen vehicle, which the suspects had parked near a local casino in Mesquite.

Stephen Johnson, 35, of Las Vegas Nevada, was arrested and charged with: One felony count of possession of a stolen vehicle.
