April 7, 1917: The board of county commissioners met in regular session Thursday and remained in session as the ‘Highway Commission’ until Friday. Chairman Fayle presided, with members Smith and Darling. The clerk and District Attorney were both present. Cuts were made to justice fees: P.H Spridger’s was reduced from $9.75 to $6.75 and from $12.25 to $10; T.J. Connell’s was reduced from $11 to $5 due to errors.

April 7, 1917: The application of Bessie Allen for a retail liquor license for her house of assignation at Nelson was denied.

April 1917: The state tax rate was raised from $.46 to $.62 as fixed by the legislature. The auditor was authorized to have the townsite maps platted in a book at a cost not to exceed $180.

April 1917: The bond of Justice of the Peace was approved for Wm. Wittwer of Bunkerville, NV.

April 8, 1882: Martha Cox arrives in Panaca (Martha Cox would eventually become the school teacher in the Virgin Valley.

April 13, 2000: Groundbreaking new city hall.
