Thank you for publishing coverage of the VVHS “Spring Fling.” The event was the first of

its kind in many years, giving the community an opportunity to enjoy an evening at

Virgin Valley High School, featuring the talents of our students.

It is truly heartening that so many individuals and businesses in the community supported “Spring Fling” through donated raffle items, cash donations, and attendance of the event.

A luscious buffet dinner was prepared by the Culinary Arts students. Musical and theatrical entertainment provided by the VVHS Orchestra, Jazz Band, Chorale and Drama Class was superb, and just plain fun!

The evening showed off student abilities and raised funds for scholarships for graduating seniors. Thanks to the generosity of our community, over $8,200 was raised for that cause. Raffle prizes were donated by Hey Gorgeous Salon, Virgin Valley Theatre Group, Walmart, ACT Automotive, Smith’s Food and Drug, Mesquite Fitness, Falcon Ridge Golf Course, G & S Nails, Bliss Salon, Mesquite Gaming and their golf courses, The Palms and the Oasis, Danielle’s Chocolates, Wolf Creek Golf Course, and individuals Barbara Lehrer, Evan McKinney, and Debbie Andrews. Students contributed their woodcraft and artwork that was sold to highest bidders. Bank of Nevada and others generously donated cash to scholarships that will be offered to VVHS seniors headed to college or trade school.

The Mesquite Community Education Foundation thanks all our donors for opening their hearts and their wallets to our young people who need assistance to continue their education beyond VVHS.

Sincerely,

Mesquite Community Education Foundation
