Charles Orr

Charles “Chuck” Robert Orr III, 67, passed away on March 3, 2017 after battling cancer, in St. George, Utah. He and his twin sister (Patricia) were born in Ventura, California on February 19, 1950 to Charles Robert Orr Jr. and Mary Orr.

Chuck served in the US Army, as a Chief Warrant Officer 2 during Vietnam. He served as a helicopter pilot where he was awarded the Purple Heart.

Chuck was an avid car racing enthusiast and race car buff. He loved racing. He owned a red Dodge Viper that could be seen cruising the streets of Mesquite on bright and sunny days.

He met and fell in love with Bettie Beihl, marrying her on April 17. Bettie has been the love of his life. Over the past 46 years, it was a rare occurrence to see them apart.

Chuck and Bettie lived in Ventura and Lake Isabella, California for 30 years before settling in Mesquite, Nevada in 2001. They loved the desert and the community they found.

Chuck is survived by his dear wife Bettie and two daughters, Sharlene (Thomas) Navarro and Stephanie Hefner, and seven grandchildren, Brandon (Shannon) Orr, Derec Chumley, Steven Orr, Dylan (Shelby) Chumley, Langston Navarro, Nathan Hefner, and Madelyn Hefner, three great-grandchildren, and his twin sister Patricia Orr.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, March 10 at 11 a.m. at the Casablanca Resort Showroom, 950 West Mesquite Blvd., Mesquite, NV 89027.
