The Mesquite Police Department would like to invite all to join in support of law enforcement as we light a “Beacon of Blue” during the Christmas Tree Lighting at City Hall Thursday evening, Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. This special spotlight will illuminate a blue 30-foot beam of light to illustrate the City’s support of Project Blue light. This spotlight was generously donated to the department by Decors USA.

Project Blue Light is a national program that honors the service of law enforcement and the memories of those who have fallen while in service.  Mesquite Gaming and the Eureka Casino are supporting the department in creating community awareness of Project Blue Light through marquee announcements.

Residents are also invited to support Project Blue Light by placing a blue light in their window, placing a blue light in an outdoor garage light fixture, or by placing a simple strand of blue lights outside.

Ace Hardware is offering discounted blue lights and in addition will donate $1 for every blue light sold to the Mesquite Police Department’s benevolent fund. Blue lights can also be found at Walmart on an end cap display.

The entire Mesquite Police Department would like to express their appreciation to the residents and businesses in Northeast Clark County for their support of police programs throughout the year. For more information on Project Blue Light contact Lori Todd, Communications Dispatch Supervisor at 702-346-5262.
