On Saturday, Dec. 10 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pavilion east of the Museum, Kelly Beeson and Brent Hughes will teach community members how to knap. This unique talent can be used to make arrowheads and other rock tools.
“We really appreciate Kelly and Brent sharing their time and talents with the public. This is always such a fun activity,” said Museum Coordinator Elspeth Kuta.
The activity is for those ages 15 and older, and requires some hand strength. Since the activity will be outside, attendees are encouraged to bring something to sit on. Historically, this activity has been very popular. Consequently, interested parties are invited to call the Museum at (702) 346-2394 for a reservation.
During the event, Beeson will also share her knowledge of the early Native Americans, who travelled through this area.
