Mesquite Lodge #2811 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will hold their annual Hoop Shoot Dec. 10 at the Mesquite Recreation Center. The event will begin at 10 a.m. sharp with registration at 9:30 a.m. The competition is open to all children from 8-13 years of age. Boys and girls will compete separately in three divisions. First up will be children 8-9 years, then 10-11 and finally 12-13 year olds. Contestants will shoot 25 free throws each, Winners will advance to state and regional competition.
